For Vachetta protection, Collonil Carbon Pro vs. Waterstop? Do you recommend Kiwi spray also?

Carbon Pro is intended for use on all materials included canvas. Even though it is not clearly mentioned whether it is more suitable for treated or untreated leather, I use it systematically on the vachetta and the canvas of all of my LV bags and SLGs aka 4 mono bags, 2 DE and 1 DA (straps included).

That being said, I was wonderings why many of you do not use it on the canvas..? Have you experienced anything unpleasant?

I actually have the same doubt. Do you see any difference after putting it on the LV canvas? Would it ruin the canvas ?

from personal experience, when i sprayed my vachetta, i noticed (later on) there was a white spot/mark on the canvas (from not properly wiping it after spraying) - idk if this was a fluke or why this is why people recommend not to spray canvas but ever since i’ve tried to be more conscientious of wiping the canvas after spraying it. also i saw a youtube video once where a girl sprayed her canvas and left it on the paper towel to dry, and the paper towel stuck onto her bag and she had this huge white cast on her nano speedy :panic: fortunately she was able to get it out but i know she said it was a stressful process. and i feel like i’ve watched other videos of them stating how it could dry out / crack the canvas

I sprayed my BTP items yesterday and just sprayed others today. It goes on very wet/shiny on coated canvas but dries down to an invisible coat. You can’t even tell the canvas has been touched afterwards. I’ll include finished pics later

Follow up : did you spray the entire neon alma nylon strap, I’m thinking nylon or cotton poly strap??I have a creamy beige multi by the pool strap, that I want to spray with carbon pro.

Do you spray the azur canvas too? I’m worried about color transfer
No, my understanding is that the spray is just for leather. The canvas is coated in a type of plastic, so friction is what causes the color transfer from other surfaces. I try and avoid touching the canvas surface to other fabrics that are dark colors and/or known to bleed, but it's a pain and I think it's something you have to accept as inevitable unless you're in the habit of babying your bags.

For me, the main reason I haven’t used it on canvas is most of my canvas pieces are DE, so I don’t treat those at all. For my mono it didn’t really cross my mind since the canvas is a darker color. I have contemplated using it on my DA canvas. What stops me is that sometimes when adding a clear top coat to white in general, can cause yellowing. And I didn’t want to chance that. But I’ve definitely been tempted. I’ve never used Apple guard, but have used carbon pro for years on leather, and I love it. I scotchgard all my nylon/fabric straps too.
I know this is an older post, but I would LOVE to see some pictures of your Vachetta pieces that you’ve been using carbon pro on for a few years, if you don’t mind :) I’m contemplating doing my new speedy with it, I’m just curious how it patinas and haven’t been able to find any photos
