For Vachetta protection, Collonil Carbon Pro vs. Waterstop? Do you recommend Kiwi spray also?

Interesting. How do you seal the corners? I’ve never had issues with darker coloured bags so I’m saving this spray for lighter colours/canvases. It’s getting expensive at $27 CAD a bottle - just finished the 2nd bottle today and ordered third lol
I love the cheery colors you have for spring/summer. Green and yellow are my favorite, and the PM is one of my all time favorite bags. So pretty!
I use Angelus Acrylic Finisher. It kinda does for leather, what urethane does for wood. I use it on leather bags that have folded corners, or corners that I know will be prone to wear or scuffs to prevent that from happening. Then carbon pro the entire bag after.

Carbon Pro is intended for use on all materials included canvas. Even though it is not clearly mentioned whether it is more suitable for treated or untreated leather, I use it systematically on the vachetta and the canvas of all of my LV bags and SLGs aka 4 mono bags, 2 DE and 1 DA (straps included).

That being said, I was wonderings why many of you do not use it on the canvas..? Have you experienced anything unpleasant?

I was wondering that, too. When I previously sprayed my bags I did not pay much attention not to cover the canvas and it has not been a problem. And today when spraying my new to me graffiti speedy I actually thought perhaps it actually might aid in preserving the print. I used Collonil Carbon Pro and I read that it covers everything with a thin polymer chain coat, which sounds good.

For me, the main reason I haven’t used it on canvas is most of my canvas pieces are DE, so I don’t treat those at all. For my mono it didn’t really cross my mind since the canvas is a darker color. I have contemplated using it on my DA canvas. What stops me is that sometimes when adding a clear top coat to white in general, can cause yellowing. And I didn’t want to chance that. But I’ve definitely been tempted. I’ve never used Apple guard, but have used carbon pro for years on leather, and I love it. I scotchgard all my nylon/fabric straps too.

what do you use for the light zipper trim of the DA? I feel mine is already getting dirty. It gets dirty easily compared to the canvas. Thank you!

Scotchgard. I would cover the zipper with painters tape, and cover the bag, and scotchgard the zipper fabric. I usually set a timer for about 40 minutes after, then do a second coat. Then let it dry overnight. If any does get on the zipper I just wipe it off with a cloth.
