Wanted to share my thoughts about adding same pieces in different metals! I am not a fan and I avoid doing it as much as possible but I did make exceptions for two of my pieces - the WG and RG hammered 5-motifs & the RG and WG Perlee Clover bracelet. Why?

In the first place, obviously I love and wear these pieces to death so adding the same piece in another metal made some level of sense.

Secondly, I love mixing metals (the purist in me is appalled but WTH we live once 😂) so the versatility of wearing these bracelets solo or stacked was so appealing!

I have resisted adding the WG Clover bracelet for years now! Maybe it was the crazy price point, maybe it was the idea that I had already done a check mark with owning the RG Perlee Clover bracelet. Whatever it was, I tortured myself into considering other WG bracelet alternatives!

I needed an anchor piece to build my WG stack and I wanted a structured bracelet for that. No matter what other pieces I considered, VCA or non-VCA, it just didn’t spark the same level of joy! I wanted to have 5 WG bracelets in my WG fam (don’t get me started on why 5😂). I figured out two that gave me absolute joy - WG hammered 5-motif and my WG emerald and pave beauty. I even have some ideas about the third and fourth but for the that to happen I kept going back to the WG Perlee Clover! That was the key piece to adding the remaining two bracelets on my WL. And yup, those remaining two are identical bracelets in same metal 🤷🏻‍♀️ more to come on that next year or 2027!

Long story short, I reached out to my VCA SA about the WG Perlee Clover bracelet and she made it miraculously happen for which I am eternally grateful!

Now that I have it, I honestly feel so silly not adding it sooner! Oh well, better late than ever, right?

And yes, many of you here can tell me ‘I told you so!’😜 Go on! I deserve it 😂😂

Just gorgeous and I love how you evolved to mix like this. I personally had always hated mixing metals unless the item had both colors, but as there are very few pieces that do that, I will be looking to branch out at some point and add a few WG pieces to the mix. Yours is a good story for inspiration!

In my opinion, these 2 are different - paved and mirror finish BUT depending on your current collection or what you aspire to build, for me - where possible, I would go for different metal to justify my purchases

I get that, it makes sense. I have a sentimental WG pave ring from my husband and I don't wear YG. I have to think if there would be enough situations to not be redundant.

While reading your post I was thinking about how I don’t do repeats. But then I remembered I have the hammered wg and yg 10 necklaces. Oops! To me they are completely different pieces and serve different purposes. Not substitutes.
I have long time been considering getting the wg pave frivole earrings. I have the yg pave already. And for awhile I felt they would be used for similar purpose. But as I have built out separate colour good collections they is room for multiples is they work! I also recently realized the frivoles are only earrings that look great on me due to the tilted setting. I had to cross the 2 butterfly off my list since straight on they look like hoops on me due to my earlobes. Still considering duplicate and good to know others have some too.

As much as I love butterflies, the butterfly earrings have never resonated with me personally! I love the butterfly pendants and rings though. Honest answer? Unless it was a bracelet that you would stack, I would not add the same metal, same piece in different material. I see them as substitutes and I know for myself, I would wear one more over the other which would irk me @sleepydoc.
