Good point. I was thinking mirror would be more of a casual piece given the pave perhaps is too much bling for casual days? However I do recall @BigAkoya and her opinion frivole pave BTF can be worn with shorts! Maybe frivole pave BTF is a do it all one and done. Of course I'm sure my daughter would be very happy to help out if I had both and found one underutilized ☺️Honest answer? Unless it was a bracelet that you would stack, I would not add the same metal, same piece in different material. I see them as substitutes and I know for myself, I would wear one more over the other which would irk me @sleepydoc.

I vote get the pave, and yes one and done! Pave is not dressy all. Take the price away from pave pieces and see them for what they are, pretty everyday jewelry. Tons of people wear "pave jewelry" as their everyday casual wear.
Said another way, you can go to a mall jewelry store, and see "flower pave" pieces everywhere.
I say go for it... get the pave. I also do think once you get used to wearing pave pieces, you may not want to go back to just "metal only" as you may actually find it too casual, no pop.

Yes... Frivole goes great with shorts! The weather is hot now, and I have been wearing shorts with my VCA Frivole pave pieces as well as other blingy VCA (e.g. Lotus ring, Clover bangle).
My new shorts kick this season is wide-leg, knee-length shorts. These were really hard to find for me as I am small (5' 2", 108 lbs). I spent hours searching for the perfect shorts for my build. Many shorts have leg openings that are too wide (e.g. Nili Lotan) while others are too high-waisted (e.g. Citizens of Humanity). I do love Nili Lotan and Citizens of Humanity jeans though, just not their shorts.
Finally... I found some pairs that I love. In case you (or anyone) is also trying to find something similar, I want to share my new favorite styles. The one color I am still missing is pure white which is actually my favorite summer color.

Love these blue jean ones! I bought both washes... the Familia medium-blue wash is great for bumming around with my Frivole pieces! I just wore them yesterday.

This is the darker color, Casa. I don't really wear dark shorts in the summer (mostly white or ivory), so why did I really buy these shorts? Because I loved the striped cardigan the model is wearing, and the shorts look great with it! Striped tops are my weakness, how could I say no!
I bought the cardigan both in the Ivory/Navy and the Ivory/Biscotti color combo.

I vote get the Frivole pave. You see people wearing diamond jewelry all the time these days. Diamonds are no longer considered "formal". The best part... you will love seeing the sparkly ring on your finger, and it will put an ear-to-ear grin on your face everytime you stare at it! Hope this helps, and good luck in your decision!

You obviously can do no wrong when you select jewelry because your pieces are simply amazing. I wasn’t a fan of emeralds before but you have totally made me a convert with these beautiful stones. The wg Clover was just chefs kiss to tie an already amazing collection together.
I love your perspective on adding same items in different metals. The metal choice totally changes the dynamics of how a particular piece will coordinate into your current collection. The tough choice is really now deciding which pieces should be duplicated to give maximum flexibility across one’s pieces. At least we have our wonderful group who understands and supports our crazy.

totally resonnate on frivole vs. butterfly earrings. butterfly earrings just don't show much presence as frivole which has the tilted setting and it's 3D design.To me a piece is more suitable for casual based on the design. Casual to me is lululemon shorts and flip flops while out for hike, at my kids sports game, at the boat club, those types of things. I agree with BigA it is not about pave vs non pave. For me my current casual rings are my Bulgari snake, my two butterfly and my stack rings. All are flat, secure, and carefree. My frivoles 8 flower ring does not work since it sticks out.
I would suggest thinking about what activities you would do with pieces vs what you would wear. That might help you figure out if duplicates work.
Yes! This is what I have realized recently. You can’t tell by stock pictures but here are me trying on both pairs at the same angle - straight on face shot. The butterfly looks like a hoop earring. After looking again at these I need to say goodbye to the dream of owning the butterfly earrings. My wallet thanks me!@lynne_ross

Yes - my lobes are tight to my ears (attached) and the butterflies face to the side and look like hoop earrings vs butterflies. The frivoles face forward due to the tilting. The frivoles also sit high on my lobe while the butterflies more hang off. The frivole setting is unique and very flattering for lobes like mine.
Thank you, this is a new angle for my brain to think about rather than simply getting duplicates 🙃 I think of two butterfly BTF as similar to frivole BTF so surprised it is one of your casuals. Looking at profile yes I do see it is flatter. I imagine frivole 8 flower projects even more than frivole BTF.
