Follow up: Fake denim Speedy highlighted in SF publication!

I am glad they corrected it, but I agree that the whole statement about feet is a bit misleading. I do like the fact that they mention that the only places to get authentic new LV are the LV boutique, Elux, or a major department store with an LV counter.

wow thats great! good job...I'm totally new to LV and had no idea about LV being "feetless"! I'm going to get everything authenticated here before I buy

Well, I wrote them an email...

Hi,
Regarding the article in the June issue, "Biggest Faux Pas of the Year", there are a few quotes that I must disagree with.
"Real Louis Vuittons don't have metal feet..."
There are in fact real Vuitton bags with feet on the bottom. Take the Monogram Beverly MM for example, and here is a picture from eLuxury.com: http://images.eluxury.com/assets_server/product/11421361/p11421361_ph_hero.jpg and here is the webpage link: http://www.eluxury.com/browse/product_detail.jhtml?styleid=11421361&SectionID=
Another example? The all-time classic Monogram Petite Bucket: http://www.eluxury.com/browse/product_detail.jhtml?styleid=10022879&SectionID=
The other quote I disagree with is "Follow our readers' advice and look for the telltale feet", well, for the above reason. Real Louis Vuitton handbags CAN have protective feet. It was only this particular design, the Denim Neo Speedy, that does not have feet.
I do own Louis Vuitton handbags, all authentic, and unfortunately I do not want the above two quotes to wrongly educate readers about authentic Louis Vuitton handbags.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email.
Sincerely,
Karman XXXXXX

LOL I'm sure they are tired of hearing about this article by now!!! But I can't let them do this to people not educated LV--educate them WRONG!

Edit: shoot, just when I have sent the emails, the products are out of stock. Oh well, at least now they have the names and can do their research on it, if they like.

:tup::okay:

Not all LV's are feetless. My Stephen has feet. Just certain styles don't. They simply jumped the gun again and didn't research the info beforehand. Now the confusion begins:wacko:

omg they are giving the wrong advice to the readers! my mom has a petite bucket like karmen stated about the metal feet... it does have potective feet at the bottom, this magazine needs to educated themselves about LV before putting it out onto the stands ><

Yay! I just read the piece on tPF about that fake bag - eww! How could you pose for a pic in a magazine with a fake?
Anyways, love they acknowledged it's a fake. I wouldn't have thought they'd do that.
