Just a PSA for those considering.... My excitement for this bag has turned to disappointment. I received the mini Swann in late December so I have only had it for a few weeks but have lately noticed signficiant corner wear. This is from around 2 weeks of daily use (running errands not marathons!).

I reached out to customer service but they basically told me corners are the most sensitive part of any bag and that I should pay attention not to hit it against doors and walls to prevent scratching. They are not interested in considering that this is faulty and have instead suggested I use leather cream or leather colour to correct the colour. I'm so disappointed.

This doesn't even look like deep scuffing, literally the very top layer rubbing off. That's not good

Just wanted to respond by saying that I also have similar corner wear. It’s not as bad but definitely another minus point for the design.

I'm also a bit miffed about the response I received.
The corners are indeed the most sensitive part of every bag.

To prevent the corners to be wearing again, you have to pay attention to shocks with the corners, especially walls and doors, it’s the way the corners can easily get scratched. ...... I can reassure you, this will not spread to other area, this leather comes from the Tannery Curtidos Badia that has more than a century know-how, they provide for luxury brand such as Hermès or Loewe.
Even if it comes from the same Tannery as Hermes or Loewe, I would be equally disappointed that those brands would think this is acceptable.

My guess is that it’s probably leftover leather that Hermes and Loewe rejected from the same tannery.
I have to say it also irritates me that they throw around names like Hermès and Loewe in a way that feels like they are trying to ride on the successes of these premium brands. The leather might be from the same tannery but as @kura says it does not mean it’s the same quality of leather that they are using! Besides, even if the leather was the same quality for the sake of argument, if the workmanship is shoddy or the design is faulty they are just wasting nice leather. But the biggest problem is they need to sort out their customer service attitude and understand what is ok and what is not. Telling the customer how to fix a faulty bag is not acceptable.

Which colour did you go for?
I went for the sable.

I hope it will not wear like above. Have only used it a handful of times and only worn cross body once.

Agreed. I think the leather on my bags has been nice quality, especially on the taupe one. But the customer service is terrible. We should not have to fix issues ourselves on brand new items.

My mini Swann arrived today. It was very fast shipping about 2-3 days DHL Express. Side by side comparison between Fleuron Mini Swann vs. Polene Sept Mini, both in taupe color. Mini Swann leather is top quality reminds me of Hermes but lighter. The size is perfect for 5’2” and fits my essential comfortably. Whereas the Polene Sept Mini is a snug fit and I have to maneuver a bit to close the snap. Both are beautiful bags and I can see myself using Fleuron Mini Swann more for everyday use.

thanks for the comparison :)

Loving the look of this brand! And this green color! The only thing keeping me from getting the mini swan in this green along with matching twilly for the handle, is the no feet. I wish they had feet for protection when being resting on tables etc. It would look great carried as a hand bag without the shoulder strap.

I have a medium smooth Swann. I haven’t noticed any patina.
Thank you! I was under the assumption that vegetable-tanned leather should eventually develop a patina, maybe it hasn't had enough time?

I'm very nervous as I once bought something described as vachetta leather and it turned out to be obviously reconstituted / bonded leather when it arrived (from Spinnaker Boutique, no less)

I think it’s actually just tan coloured. I might be wrong but they don’t mention vegetable / combination tanning on their site.
