I have few bags that I tend to bring for traveling but I am still searching for Holy Grail travel bag. Current bags that I bring to for travel are: Mulberry Alexa, Speedy B, Bal Velo. I also plan to use my Hermes Kelly 35 because of the very water resistant leather. But non of bags I mentioned have pocket outside.

I hope some of u can give me ideas based on my criteria.

1) Weather resistant leather or canvas.
2) Must have zip or other means of closure for security.
3) Adjustable shoulder strap that can be crossbody.
4) With handheld option.
5) With open or zipped pocket outside bag for phone etc.
6) Med/Large size.

LV Pallas seemed to be the closest match BUT bigger size don’t come with long crossbody strap. I also prefer no monogram for traveling.

Very similar requirements for me - must have zip closure, must be weather resistant. Perhaps versatile with respect to carrying options.
Not sure whether one bag can fulfil the requirements or one large and one smaller like some have mentioned.

View attachment 4199766 Love my LV Lymington for travel. Not too big, not too small, and has a zip top which is a must for me. The long strap (on its longest setting) works for me crossbody which I prefer while at airports/out and about, but on the shortest setting it (just) works as an on-the-shoulder strap for using when I am home. For reference, I’m 5’8, and curvy, so YMMV.

I have it in the DA, as I mostly travel in warmer months and I love DA for spring/summer, but the DE was gorgeous as well.

I do use a purse organiser inside (from Mai Tai Collection) but there are two smaller phone slip pockets and one large slip pocket inside if you don’t like adding organisers in.

I can fit my continental style wallet, travel wallet, LV cosmetic pouch, sunglasses case, iPhone X and iPad in with room to spare.

Thank you! That was really helpful!

I opt for bags that are not too expensive in first place. Other criteria for travel bags are lightweight, low maintenance, and still good looking in a bar or in a restaurant. It should have a strap and also the handheld option. Medium size, and nothing larger than 10’. My current go-to travel bags are:
- Michael Kors Selma in medium size for sightseeing, city tours and restaurant dinners. It came with me for at least 6 travel situations this year. Definitely a winner, and still looks brand new. You can wipe off any dirt. The bag fits a lot for its size. You can easily pack water and a snack in it, plus all your makeup essentials and even a small notebook.
- My 10-year old LV speedy 30. Very roomy, very stylish. The canvas is amazing, water resistant and light weight. Unfortunately there is no shoulder option. The Speedy is very durable. Even after 10 years the bag looks luxe.
- When on the plane, I use a Longchamp pliage. It keeps my laptop safe, and all my makeup essentials are securely stored. The canvas is very durable and water resistant. The bag is practical IMO, but the bag not really chic, and too bulky for sightseeing or restaurants.
- I also use a carry-on suitcase to store my jacket or any heavy item, instead of my longchamp.

In the future, I will consider Coach bags. And I plan to get a Kate Spade duffle bag to switch from my Selma.

It depends on what kind of travel. For business travel, I use a LV tote that I bought in Paris (I don’t know the name but if anyone knows it, please let me know). It’s light, fits my laptop, iPad, kindle, water, scarf, wallet, chargers and various accessories. I also carry a small leather cross body that just fits my wallet and phone for a night out.

For Leisure travel, I carry a Henri Bendel jet setter backpack. It converts from a backpack to a cross body, can be hand carried, has a zipper and an outside pocket. I’ve taken it all over Europe and it’s the perfect bag for sightseeing and I’ve even taken it hiking. Some of the recent reviews state that the snaps don’t work properly but I have an older model and I find the snaps to be quite sturdy. It took me years to find travel bags but now I’m so glad that I have these 2 travel staples.

Pochette metis or bond street for sightseeing- depending on the season. Both are super comfortable crossbody. My metis is black so I don’t use it in the summer. If I need to carry more than they can hold, I use Neonoe, which I like crossbody and shoulder carry equally. I bought a zipped Samorga organizer for one side of the Neonoe to keep things secure.

Black Longchamp neo in black for the flight over. I like that it’s zippered, plain, light, spacious and I don’t mind it stuffed under the plane seat and being my foot rest lol. I’ve always thought about bringing my neverfull but so far I haven’t as I’m nervous about the open top.

And in it I pack in my pochette Metis for my sightseeing bag. Ever since I purchased this bag it’s accompanied me on every holiday. I love the compartment. Right at the back lives my passport, mini pochette and other bits and bobs in the middle and wallet at the front and my phone within easy reach at the back zippered pocket!

Before the pm I used to take my celine trio also for the reasons above, I love compartments when travelling.

HTH!

Speedy b 25 short strap for travel/sightseeing with the Pochette (bucket bag pm version) and unknown brand clutch in it to be organised. I bring a DE strap if I want to use the pochette for evening.
