I'm disappointed with the mangue...not so much at the colour but the leather! So dry, too papery...and not a nice even consistent dye job!!!! No, I can't swoon over this. Also, it is a nice yellow but it could have been deeper for me. Still a bit too close to mimosa which was too cold & neon for my liking. I still prefer a warmer richer yellow with a bit more orange./QUOTE]
the mangue city that i have is totally moist leather and evenly distributed color with hints of orange...i would check out other bags...maybe they got a bad batch...

i totally agree about the cumin color-looks like stool from a sick animal...not really my cup of tea...

my mangue city bag is very moist leather that is evenly distributed....it may just be a bad batch of bags that were out there...

I saw several Mangue bags and they were all very vibrant, evenly saturated, and really much richer in color than Mimosa, which for me was too daffodil yellow. And the leather was pretty nice as far as softness and even distressing. I really liked Mangue, but know that I tend to leave my yellow bags in the closet, which is the only reason I passed. Sometimes you love a color, but know that you will just never really use it.

We must have received a lousy batch! How unfair!

Yeah, I've seen Mangue IRL and I have not seen any bad bags.

Was just at the BH Neiman Marcus today, and they had quite a few of the new bags (except for Cumin - sheesh!!!). I would say that the leather was consistently good; thick, moist and nicely distressed. The one that really caught my eye was the Jacynthe mGSH City .. GREAT COMBO!!! :smile1:

Thanks so much for all the "field reports"! Since bal isn't stocked anywhere near me, I rely on pics and descriptions posted here on tPF. Unfortunately, I think I've seen enough of cumin to know that it is not for me. And I had such high hopes...

Geez, I wonder why or how the variation in leather quality can differ SO much? I'm not super picky but one of the mangue bags had uneven colouration...like, it's sooo bad :nogood: and on top of that, it was dry, thin & almost peeling. By the time I left Holts, the bags got moved around so I saw mangue in different store lighting (darker vs bright lighting).

I ran into my local NM to see if they had any of the new colors out they had a few I was mainly looking to see cassis & mango they had the first but not the second. I was really disappointed by cassis it reminds me of a slightly darker pourpre that is faded and no berry undertone that pourpre has(imo). I also compared it to my burgundy mcp and I took a pic but the lighting is bad so they looks almost the same color in the pic. IRL the burgundy is much more bright & vibrant and cassis is dull/faded. Even the SA noted the stark difference between the colors she also liked the burgundy more than the new color lol.

I'll post my burgundy/cassis color comparison pic, but like I said the lighting is bad and they look almost the same in the pic but they are very different IRL. IMO cassis looks way better in pics than it dose IRL just my two cents.

K I saw mango at barneys and it was ok I was hoping for more orange under tone too it. Barneys did have several gorgeous croc triple tours in green, a grayish purple, forgot the third color.

I know this is going to be a stupid question, but what are croc triple tours?

The triple tours are one of Bal's leather bracelets you wrap it around your wrist 3 times. This is what it looks like

The ones I saw must be a LE item because they were made of croc and the had the silver (Palladium) rh which is only used on LE items. Bal generally doesn't make a whole lot of croc items, probably due to cost of croc leather but you see them pop up every once in a while. I didn't think about it at the time but I wish I snapped a pic of them they were stunning. I tried on the grayish purple one but it was too snug on my fat wrist. The SA was like oh it will fit . . . and I was like it's a bit tight.
