You are too cute!!!! I love that your teeny red bags make you think of me, hee hee...and if you ever want to rehome your Sang First, I know of a lovely lovely home for her....:graucho:

Next goals: Cross-body (most likely black) and then something red. Once those goals are accomplished, it's on to the Paraty (color tbd) and something in a color like Pourpre. Yep!

Hi Loquita, I'm afraid I've not followed your thread so much the past few weeks so forgive me if you've considered already... but just wondered if you've checked out the Mulberry Mitzy Messenger. It is my one black cross-body favorite (have had it a few months) super comfortable, etc...found it on shopbop.com no shipping, no tax...just a thought :-)

I think the only think you want to do in the future is - don't buy more than 1 bag of a style until you've owned and carried that bag for 3 to 6 months. Would you marry without dating your partner? Having a bag is not unlike a marriage - they are with you day-in and -out, and their petty annoyances can grate you like cheap cheese.

brilliant!!!

I was telling my boyfriend about a new Bal city, and he said "Didn't you JUST get a new Coach??"

I explained that yes, I did. But the Coach is pink and patent-y, and while I LOVE pink, I want a classier, grow-old-with kind of bag too. Not that I'd get rid of my new Coach any time soon. But then he says "If you already have a pink Coach, why do you need a new Bal?"

I explained the reasons to him, but in the end just said "You're not a Pfer!! You don't get it!" Lol.

So I think my best bet would be to carry the Coach for a few months and think of re-selling. I've already gotten rid of quite a few Diors and a couple of LV pochettes recently, but the profit from that went towards rent and bills as I had some unexpected setbacks.

Sigh.

Excellent logic! I have always loved the Courier myself and have toyed with the idea of getting one many, many times - but I always stop because I am short and am afraid that it would look silly on me. :p

And everyone should definitely have more than 1 red bag!!! I have been separated from my Edith for a mere two hours and I am already freaking out about not having a red bag.

You shouldn't write off the Courier because you're short I'm 5'2" and love it on me, even though it's ginormous. I love Bal colors, not fond of all the hardware. I like the courier, because it's a simpler bag. The only thing is that it's a really casual bag, so if you wear more than jeans to work, as I do, I don't think it works. And yeah red bags (and shoes) are the bomb, they just elevate an outfit imho.

Thanks for this suggestion! I actually have been considering this one!!

(Great minds think alike).

It is def. on the short list - I love the smooshy look of it.

I know, I know...some peeps just.don't.get.us. :lawl:

(My SO is the same, btw).

I am saving for a City, too!!! Let's try to keep each other on track. I need help!!!

What color/HW you going for? :graucho:

I am thinking Sanguine 09 RH. I would also take a Day or Twiggy in the same combo, though. Looks like I will have to pay retail unless I get lucky.

And pink bags can be very different indeed. I am a fan of a really bright fuchsia myself - it's always been a favorite. Bal Sorbet is killing me.

brilliant indeed! This is exactly my problem. I have multiple colors of the same style, thinking I would be set FOR LIFE. that never happens. :lecture:

Congrats on the sales and the Anthra day! today was eventful for you! I know you'll love the Anthra day... I still own mine and I used it for months and months... it was just too perfect! I love other bal styles, but I can't seem to get past the double handles darkening. It's not so obvious on the day. Now with the Velo and the Maxi Twiggy out, it looks like I've got more options! I wish sang was available in the Velo... I think that would solve your red bal bag dilemma(red crossbody).

I'm thinking a Sahara city. It's a nice neutral color that would go with everything and can be accessorized with a cute charm or two to give it my own personal touch. Preferably Chevre leather, it's buttery soft and lightweight, as all Bals are.

Btw, you're a professor in LA? I wonder if you're one of my profs, lol!

Sadly she is already re-homed...as are all my balenciaga bags...I love them, but realized if DH ever asked...um, yea...I cannot lie to him, and on this I could not tell the truth so they needed to go...

Now...once we have met a few more of our household financial goals...I may revisit my balenciaga obsession...until then sadly no...
