thithi, since it's my only bag, I have found myself (happily!!) obligated to take it out for many spins already!! The fantastic news is that I do truly love it...it is the ideal size and weight for me and not delicate at all. I am very impressed with YSL. :yahoo:
Glad to hear it Lo!!! I was hoping you were getting a lot of use out of the baby. I see that you added the Day as well. I really love that style too. It's a bit deep, but so light and easy to carry. Are you looking at something red? or Outremer? I'm still lusting after that color! I think I'm just going to go for it - even though I had that thread about EBs, no other bag seems to out do the Day in this color. I have one of my old Days up for sale now.... I'm hoping that will help cover the costs.

So what color are you going after??

I'm currently in a purge status to let go of all my items I no longer "Love" or have not gotten any use in the last year. It's a slow process, but I started instead of procrastinating about it. At least that's a start. Besides the Fendi Beaded Spy and the LV Motard Biker... There are no bags that I feel I just have to buy at the moment. My UHG of wallets is a pomme zippy, but for right now--- I'm using the heck out of my MJ ZC in the hopes that a zippy will come in the future. I'm hoping to bring my collection down to 8, LE well loved pieces.

Ahhhh....yes!! I have owned a few Days before, and regret selling one of them in particular - the other one was a Ruby 08 Day and even though I loved the color, the leather on the handle started to peel (and it was a stark white underneath :wtf:) after just 1-2 uses - and I bought it brand new. :cursing:

So it is highly unlikely that I will buy anything from 08 or newer. I just don't trust them. The bag I stupidly sold was a perfect Rouille 07 Day, which was my HG at the time. Selling that was an act of supreme idiocy on my part. :noggin:

At the moment, I am thinking either Rouille (06 or 07), Tomato, or RT. And I MAYBE could be convinced to get a Sang Day if I could return it because of problems. But I need to investigate some more.

I think that the Day might replace the YSL Easy on my list because frankly I am not so certain that I will use a satchel, and I know that I love the Day style - it works for me. I have to save up some more so I have time to think on this one. Now I am trying to pick two from the following list: Bal Day, YSL Easy, LV Neverfull MM, the Mulberry Alexa.

GL selling your Day!!! :yahoo:

Hi Lo! WOW your thread just keeps goin' and goin' and goin'....LOL!

I am in my purge moment too but with small things at the moment...l have all this big and little stuff all over the place and it's muddling my brain! 2010 is the year for me to get this all under control! Especially if one more will be joining me and DH soon...

I have a mix of mid to high end bags, mostly high end bags...some I have bought on sale, some full price (at the height of my insanity). I like the bags but you know what? I don't change out of them like I used to before...I am consistently using 2 or 3 bags.

You know what? I am toying with the challenge of selling all bags, small goods, and some of my jewelry but maybe 2 bags and the clutches to buy a preloved H...or a Tiffany piece.

Wanna bet me that I can do it, Lo and purge ready ladies? :graucho:

yea! a Day! honestly Thithi, don't you think it's the most comfy bag to wear. I forget I have it on. You're right, it can be a bit deep, but if I need a bag that will go all day, carry lots of stuff and not make my shoulder ache, I grab my day.

LO, it's a great bag! Also, what's your take on the YSL muse? I keep going back to that one. I'm just afraid it might be too heavy.

mayajuliana, I say DO IT!!

It sounds like you are already in the frame of mind for that kind of a switch, so why not? Go for it!! :yahoo:

Please keep us posted as you go about your journey - I for one am thrilled for you!! And I mean it when I say that it sounds like you are very much ready to take the plunge...and I am with you!! :happydance:

i vote for the alexa for one!!

i can't believe how many pages this thread is already!

Hee hee...I am really pretty set on the Alexa, TBH - which means that I can get one more bag after that. It will be either a Balenciaga Day or an LV Neverfull/Wapity combo, but I am still mulling that one over.

I see that your wishlist is morphing just like mine!! It's fun to take your time thining about a bag purchase, isn't it? When I ditch the impulse bag-buying, i am actually much more satisfied in the long run, I am finding.

I will join you in your fascination with the Muse. That has been a contender for me since day one, but I can't find the exact color I want - black is the only thing that's calling me at the moment. It's just a gorgeous, gorgeous bag and beyond chic. There are seriously so many YSLs that I love - it's the brand that appeals to me the most all-around at this point, in that I like virtually all of the styles (unheard of for me).

You know, I have read lots on the Muse and asked some PFers who own them and not a single person has mentioned it being a particularly heavy bag...which is great news! ;)

I don't think the Muse is that heavy at all - at least comparatively to heavy bags such as MJ. I held a rather large one in a gorgeous lilac color in the boutique in SCP...it was so nice...and on sale...but I had to let it go since I had the Chanel bug at the time...

Hey, Lo, thanks! I am totally in the "cleaning the slate" mind, and I've let go of a bunch of stuff already...small leather goods, unused makeup, name brand clothes, shoes, anything I believe I can sell online. I've let go of two designer bags...one a Chanel and one a Bal...and strangely, I don't miss them, even if the Bal was in an in demand chevre leather (the 2007 cinnamon/mogano leather). I liked it but obviously not enough!

I'm not sure if at the end I will get a Birkin or another Tiffany ring, but I want to be able to choose to buy either and have cash in hand. It lends a certain power to oneself to be able to choose, kwim? Either piece would be sooooo classic and something I'll never let go...rather than having a hundred little pieces and then getting tired of it.

Or I guess I'm just tired of all the stuff around me and need space to breathe! :p

You are in my head right now, I swear! :lawl:

I have been doing the exact same thing - letting go of makeup, clothing, shoes, handbags, small leather goods - anything and everything. I did a massive clean-out of my closets (which weren't all that stuffed to begin with, but I got really swept away this time) and made an *bay/Bonanzle pile, a donations pile, a pile of stuff that just needed to be thrown away or recycled, and a pile for the local consignment shop. It took me an entire night (I literally stayed up just about all night) but it has been one of the best investments of my energy that I have made in quite some time.

I have just about no tolerance for clutter at this point. The older I get, the less patience I have for it.

I'd have to say, this bag is actually on the lighter side of bags that I've owned... probably almost slightly heavier than the Day, but lighter than a City. The leather isn't very thick, so it helps keep it light. I love the weight of it. I've been carrying around the Burberry Studded Hoxton hobo a lot and the studs add some weight to it, and the Easy is a nice change.

And it fits on the shoulder Lo!! It's not strictly a satchel, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it... but it does look nicer when carried that way. I like to have my hands free when i'm shopping.

My Anthra Day didn't sell as much as I would have liked, but then again it was pretty beat up... I used it quite a lot. It'll still put a good size dent in my Outremer fund.... Now if only Erica will take my order! She closed the Outremer list. boo.

good to know! If I'm still in love with it next christmas, that might be the one. Of course after selling at least 5 or 6.

That's disappointing to hear of your problems with the day. I haven't had any problems with my bals yet, even the 08 and 09 bags, but I rotate them often so they stay pretty pristine. One good reason not to sell too many! When are you getting the Bays? I'm getting excited for you!
