JC - I agree with klj and carterazo. Ultimately you should decide what your magic number is. If the number works for you and if you love/use all of your bags then you should keep them.

That is great novella!! Yep, keeping track of things by writing them down is a definite eye opener--it forces you take a look at how much you spend!! For me, it was such an eyeopener!

Thanks jxwilliams. You're so right that writing them down really forces you to take a look at how much you spend. I still get tempted when I see great deals online or in the stores, but I'm getting better at walking away when I think about writing down my newest purchase in my Moleskine.

Thanks for the words of encouragement carterazo, klj and novella...I feel like I have found my magic number, even if that number is around 30. I used to have nearly twice that many, but I have purged the ones that never really worked for me for one reason or another. Now I'm left with ones that I can find no fault with and would use over and over again. And some of them took me a lot of effort to find so I just can't part with them.

These days, I'm much more careful about buying things. Mostly, I think carefully about whether or not the bag is functional for me. It has to be comfy to carry and in a color/leather that goes with my wardrobe or it will just sit around unused. I'm tired of the whole buying/selling cycle. I've found that when I buy on impulse, I usually end up regretting it, so I make myself think about the bag for a day or two at least. I've lost out on some great deals that way, but I still think it's for the best.

Eeeeeeee! My birthday bag AND my first Bal ...that I saved and saved for is finally here!
I'll have to try and take some pics on Thursday...but I'm so proud of myself for being really patient..not buying anything for along time and saving up for one on my HG bags...not bragging, I swear..just happy.:flowers:

I am so proud of you, that is so awesome that you were able to stick with your saving and buy your Bal!! What an accomplishment, congrats! I can't wait to see pics!

KLJ, that is so awesome - which style/color? My black town was one of the best purchases ever, so lightweight and it goes w/ everything. Bal bags are so classic too, you'll get so much use out of it!

JC, for me personally I have more clutches than I really need, but I love them and honestly some of them were great deals. So I get it! For everyday bags though I just don't like having too many and when I started going through my closet I realized other bags/scarves/jewelry that I didn't love and wasn't using = HG bag! I don't think there is a right or wrong number, but I agree that sometimes setting limits makes sense.

Btw. if you sell on Ebay and it is over $250 (I think) get signature confirmation! I forgot and am hoping that my buyers are honest and don't give me problems! :(

LeeMiller, you are so right...I don't know how many HG bags I could fund if I did a serious purge...at least a couple. But for now, I'm enjoying the variety. I could definitely see myself heading in the direction of just owning a few HG bags someday though. I think eventually I will get tired of the clutter.
