I really like this bag from Opelle Creative, it's toronto based.

However the CA$650 tag makes me think it's a bit too much to pay for an Etsy bag. I could easily get a Mansur Gavriel bucket bag for lesser.

It is gorgeous though.

Can anyone tell me more about how their Laurel Dasso bags have held up? How does the leather age, can the bag handle weight, do you find you have to baby the bag or is it more of an everyday bag? Thanks :)

I have at least 10 of her bags and they are very hardy. If there is a leather you are interested in and it might be fragile just ask her opinion. I only have one I baby - it is a very soft very light taupe goatskin that I am careful about color transfer. Haven't treated it am afraid it might change the color. Otherwise her bags are good for all day every day! (IMO)

Hello, I have the first 'box bag' that Laurel made (I wanted a bag in the shape of the Pandora and she obliged!). It's made of goatskin and is extremely durable! The first day I took it out it started raining but Laurel had assured me that it could take the rain, no problem......she was right! I panicked when I saw the dark rain spots but they were gone a minute later.
I've had my bag for about a year and it's so perfect....my photo shows a cotton webbing strap that I put on it just to change up it's look but it came with a strap that matches the leather also.
The charm is one that my dd bought for me at Hot Topic (she knows I love the StayPuft man!)
I hope this helps, Laurel is very easy to communicate with and will get back to you with any questions you may have. She's a delight to work with!IMG_6106.JPG

Thank you all! I'm so glad you have good reviews. I want to buy a bag from her that's more than just beautiful - I want it to be useful and hardy! Too many of my bags have really been destroyed by the amount of stuff I carry to class, and I don't want to spend anymore money on another pretty bag only to have it destroyed. It was either try with Laurel and see if she can make something hardy and cute, or start going with ugly but sturdy utility/hiking backpacks - I think I'm gonna try Laurel when I save up! Really appreciate the input xx
