Thank you all! I'm so glad you have good reviews. I want to buy a bag from her that's more than just beautiful - I want it to be useful and hardy! Too many of my bags have really been destroyed by the amount of stuff I carry to class, and I don't want to spend anymore money on another pretty bag only to have it destroyed. It was either try with Laurel and see if she can make something hardy and cute, or start going with ugly but sturdy utility/hiking backpacks - I think I'm gonna try Laurel when I save up! Really appreciate the input xx

Good luck! Just make sure you communicate to Laurel exactly how you need to use your bag, how much it will need to hold, etc.
She's very good at making something that will work for you.

I've had such a horrible experience with Laurel. I for one, will never purchase from her again, and feel that I need to share an alternative point of view. I know a lot of women here have her bags and love them, but just be cautious, she can be shady!!

I like DeborahDumka. She makes stuff from felt. I order a customized bag from her. It's very cute and a solid piece. I like it very much.

Yes, please do tell us more details! I also was thinking of ordering from her eventually, and all her Etsy reviews are so positive - I don't think I've ever seen a real negative review about her work'

This surprises me as my experience (as many others can also attest) was more than wonderful. We must have sent at least 20 emails back and forth and this was near Thanksgiving, surely a very busy time for her. She made my bag exactly to my specifications and I'm thrilled with it. Shady is not an adjective I could use, with any stretch of the imagination, to describe her. I'm sorry that's your experience with Laurel.
If you care to share more details maybe some of us that have experience working with her could help? I understand if you don't want to share but it could be helpful.

I agree with alansgail. I just ordered my 10th bag from Laurel and each one was exactly what I expected. My interactions with Laurel have been great and very customer oriented. I am sorry that you did not have the same experience. I'm really surprised that Laurel couldn't resolve your issue.
