I asked Coach a few weeks ago and they said the Embossed Horse and Carriage Edie Shoulder Bag will be available in Pale Blue and Apricot (both with light gold hardware) on November 18th. No purple in small embossed for now. :-/

That's kind of what I was thinking! She even had the dust bag perfectly folded up inside and in a pocket was the care card. One of my dear friends and I think maybe it was an unwanted gift or a bag that just couldn't be returned.

But finders keepers and even though it's very, VERY big I do love it. She was the exact one that caught my eye and I had to have her. Just not at $475. :roflmfao:

Awwww.... I'm sad. The purple looks so stunning. : ( I'm out of US and I called my local boutique whom informed that the small embossed Edie is not available in my country, only the large which I feel might be too big for me. Out of several outlets here, only one boutique is stocking the large Edie and in very limited quantity. Looks like a trip is necessary to check out the size.

I find the measurements huge too and one reviewer on Coach's website mentioned that the bag is "massive". Do you personally find it overwhelming in terms of size? Do you find yourself searching for your things inside the bag due to its size?

At first I thought it was overwhelmingly large, but because I prefer to carry larger bags I adapted to its size quickly. I don't feel like I'm searching for things because with the way the bag is designed, my things don't become lost. It's really more wide than it is deep, and I've actually had an easier time looking for my keys or my phone or pens. But it's one I definitely recommend test driving before committing to. I personally love it and would LOVE to get the same bag in black. Maybe someday!

Thank you so much for sharing. After speaking with the SA at my local boutique whom shared that there is no purple for the small embossed. Over the phone, she told me the large is "very big and heavy" so I'm a little taken aback by that. Hearing your experience helps a great deal. I am used to carrying the Longchamp large shoulder tote but as that is nylon whereas this is leather... guess I won't know till I try it out in person.

The black looks so luxurious. I will love to own it too, if I were to be looking for a black bag.

I posted some comparison pics of the Edie and Phoebe in the beginning of this thread, see posts 6 & 7. If you have a Phoebe already that will help.
As far as weight goes, the leather on the Edie is not as lightweight as on the Phoebe, but I don't think it's too heavy, but everyone is different.

I think the studwork is tastefully done, the studs are small especially compared to some others I've seen. So I don't see it being out of style within the near future, if at all.

Thanks! Yes, great craftmanship on this bag. Very happy with it, in fact all my Edies are very nicely done.

Thanks for the feedback, katierose. The L&T sale was just too tempting so I ordered the black. Hope it doesn't get cancelled like some orders have been.

Really amazing find! :) May I ask how tall you are? L&T extended their friends and family sale so I am thinking of getting it in purple but it just seems so huge! lol I am only 5'2.

I am 5 foot 2 and I am loving the large in saddle. I like large bags though. I don't find it to be huge. And it isn't too heavy to me either. Much lighter than my old Zoe! I honestly adore it and am scheming a way to buy black also!
