I'm dealing with another non paying bidder who has one more day to pay before getting outed.

But I only just found out about this handy dandy preference that e-bay has buried on their site. You can let them handle all the dirty work for you and can start a non paying bidder case as early as two days. And they will automatically relist your item if the buyer doesn't pay. My husband has this set up and he had his item automatically relisted after only 6 days after an auction had ended.

Just go to ACCOUNT, SITE PREFERENCES and then UNPAID ITEM ASSISTANT.

I just set it up and can't wait to see how it works. I wouldn't be sitting here now waiting for this buyer to pay me for a pair of shoes which would already have been handled by e-bay.

I don't understand how that would work. Even after a case is filed, they are allowed another four days to pay. What if they pay before the case closes and you already have it relisted? Please DO let me know how that works!

Horrid buyer! Knows how to manipulate returns to keep item and get refund! Has stolen from many sellers. Check out her feedback left for others. Most sellers reply that she tried to keep item and get refund. Do yourself a favor and add this one to your BBL quick!
This is just in the past 12 months! She has left hundreds more!

Yes the buyer has four days to pay once a case is opened. You definitely need to wait those four days because the buyer is still within their legal right to pay for the item. Most buyers, at least with my auctions, do end up paying once a case is opened.

But for the ones who don't, you will need to wait those four days to get your selling fees credited back to you by e-bay and have them close the case for you.

Then and only then should you relist your item.

This is such a valuable thread. Wish I knew it was here sooner. I have updated my BBL big time thanks to all of you! There are so many awful ebay users. It can really be a pain. Again, thanks so much, I am sure you have saved me quite a few headaches!

That is interesting. The same thing happened with this bidder and one of my auctions. In fact she was one of the reasons that I decided not to do any more auctions. Except the part about them losing the package. She paid within 2 hours of the deadline. How do you know the package was lost. I know she is not in the US but did you have someone at the shipping company she must use sign for the package? I haven't heard anything from this buyer so I am assuming that she received the bag that I sent her.

In my case, she used a company in Seattle (I think) that processes packages for international buyers. I actually looked up the address, and it is in a huge warehouse facility. The package that I sent to her was shipped by me in my zip code, then went to another zip code in my city, and then returned to my zip code. I called my local post office branch, and they looked in the facility, and they can't find the package. My postman, so is very familiar with me receiving packages, said that he has seen no package that was re-routed back tome. But all the tracking evidence shows that the package, for some strange reason, never left Cincinnati, and in fact came right back to the originating post office. My local post office told me to go ahead and file the claim. The claim is still pending. Very strange!

Additionally if you check this persons regular feedback on e-bay you'll find sellers (who are unable to leave negative feedback) left feedback with the familiar green dot but the copy is less than positive.

I don't understand how e-bay allows people like this to keep their accounts.

I sold them a brand new hermes belt with buckle which they received today, registered tracking and sig.confirmation.. They say my buckle has a big scratch on it, which is a lie obviously. This is suspicious since they asked for my return address which is written CLEARLY on the package they received. I Think this person was hoping for an INR claim but due to me having added signature confirmation that was not possible.

During all my years as a seller (2008) I have never had a buyer ask to return anything.

I replied to the request by saying they could get a partial refund of $100. I could not refuse and there were only Three options, refund and let buyer keep item, partial refund or refund for return. I should not have offered a partial, that was my mistake. I just felt that it was not fair that I should have to lose $100+ in shipping. I Think that I would have to pay their return shipping if I accepted it?

I do not wish to take a return and I do not give a rats *** about my seller status. I plan on closing all my listings asap or at least never ever sell on evilbay again. Ebay´s rules are ridiculous and not for small Sellers who sell from their own Collection like I do.

Ugh I'm so sorry you had to go through this nonsense.

I had a horrendous experience years ago with a buyer who bought one of my Chanel handbags, claimed it was fake, wouldn't send it back, and threatened me with negative feedback if I didn't simply refund part of the purchase price to him. Basically it was feedback extortion which is not permitted. Regardless Paypal had taken the funds out of my account and there was no resolution until a month had passed and they put all the monies back into my Paypal account.

It so soured me to e-bay that I didn't sell anything for over a year. After that I dipped my toe in slowly and eventually got back into it.

But I completely understand how one bad experience can put you off for good. The stress can really get to you.

Thank you dear! I am sorry you had such a bad experience too! It can be very stressful on evilbay and I have actually not sold for 1 or 2 years prior to this, well, I sold two items sucessfully Before this belt. Feedback extortion was something buyers did earlier, now the rules are so lax and in their favour that they do not need to take that route. Once I had someone asking to return a pair of boots because they didn`t fit and I accepted immediately. They never shipped them back since shipping was Close to $100 for a package of that size and weight.

My buyer refused the partial refund so I Think it is buyers remorse. I Think they also Believe they will get a refund Before shipping it back to me. I agreed to refund them on receiving my item back in the same condition as it originally was. I messaged them through the ebay system to let them know that.

I am not too worried getting a negative since I do not plan on Selling much there anymore. The new rules that are coming into effect on November 15 (I Think) let buyers keep an item for 180 Days and still return/open a claim. It is free rental of my items and I cannot accept that. It used to be only 45 Days.

Why do I suspect it is buyers remorse or some other shady reason? If there were a scratch on the buckle (which there is not) the buyer would most probably have accepted my $100 partial refund because of the simple fact that when they started wearing the belt the buckle would automatically get scratches. At least that is my conclusion. Of course the fact that the belt was new makes me Think it must be buyers remorse obviously. They never communicated at all, not Before buying nor after. That to me is also a red flag.
