No dealership... i.e. service dept.. in my area. I live in the boonies.
You should love it, Infiniti makes a fabulous car.

BUMMER! I had never heard of Infiniti until we went to the dealership. I had my heart set on an X5 or a Q5 but I got way more "bang for my buck" with the infiniti.

Nissan murano is basically the same car I hear, but I've never SAT in one.

What dealerships do you have?

My analytical brain insists we research.

My brain is usually very analytical as well. I must have looked at every knob in the city before I picked out the new hardware for the kitchen cabinets. I just couldn't steel myself to bring the same amount of due diligence to the car - which costs a couple of orders of magnitude more than the knobs.

LOL.. trust me, I do relate. AESTHETICS is my MOST important factor in buying a car. No matter how good the deal, how safe the ratings, if it's not white w/ tan leather interior and heated seats.. "I don't like it". How it LOOKS still matters... just like the knobs!;)

Oh I love buying cars!! But I never, ever buy a brand new one. Prefer "classics" or finding a good deal. I used to be a car sale person, so know just how much a new one depreciates the minute you drive it from the showroom.

Hubby is a Landrover freak although we don't have one atm.

This is my lovely old Toyota Celica. Not sure what to do with it when we leave here though. I could sell it for a fortune in the UK, not so much here.

A - thank you so much for all that doggy info! A crate was the first thing we brought. Hubby was reluctant at first but now on board completely. Kita loves it too. She's settling down now, and seems housetrained overnight! We've been out and left her a few times and no accidents anywhere :yahoo:

Ikea was OK - got what we needed. Worse today - Costco, bleurgh!

Dinner last night was fabulous! Lots of delish sashimi, wild boar and The most incredible steak ever. I had 2 beers and was very, erm... affected! LOL I must be getting old.

I was sooooo tempted to shop-under-the-influence, but I seem to have resisted.

Currently ignoring the fact that we have visitors arriving tomorrow and I should be helping tidy up.... la la la la la !

Hey hey ladies, just back from New Orleans. GREAT food, music, and art. That town is one party down place. I had to roll back home I ate so much!!! I did take a short (2 hour!) run through Canal Place and saw all the Bals, Chanels, LV's, Fendi's etc.:yahoo:Retail therapy and then on to EAT some more...

MMMSC - Totally jealous! Adore New Orleans! Are things back to normal since Katrina or did you see signs of businesses not returning?

EM - My heart goes out to you. I loathe car shopping. I am sure you will find something after driving 25 cars!

Expat - Your convertible Celica is very cool! How is the pup?

AC - Your Infiniti looks VERY nice!

Northerndancer - You must have the most beautiful kitchen knobs on the planet!

Shinymagpie - How are your pups?

*yawn* Morning.

Pup gets me up at 6am. I don't get to bed until 1am. I am exhausted. DH won't help out, grr. But pup is wonderful!

I was soooo proud of myself not drinking and BINing the other night ... I treated myself the next day LOL!
Having a pearl compulsion atm... Baroque FW.jpg

Visitors arrived yesterday. DHs mate and 5 yr old son. For 2 weeks! I don't like visitors. Bah humbug!
It's half term here.
I have heaps of work to do and not a chance of hell in getting it done.

So, a good friend of mine is coming to me today for coffee and cake and puppy cuddles :yahoo:.

After all this and when I've finished my work I will treat myself to another pearl necklace - this one I want to try and design myself.

Anyone have any ideas? I want a black and white 17/18" one.

Mmmm...can relate. My DH is zero help w/ puppies either. Yet they are always HIS idea.
I love the pearls. And you are in the right place! B&W would be FAB! Pearls are by far my fav gems and I will wear them w/ everything!!

I have no freaking idea. I drive an SRX now. Fun car, handles like a vette. Too expensive to maintain. My biggest problem is where I live. Few local dealerships to choose from and I refuse to have a car I cannot get worked on here locally.
One BIG concern is warranty. I average 25,000 miles a year on a car. Which means I don't buy brand new, and I need more than a 36K mile warranty. I am hard on car and they have zero resale value when I am finished w/ them. And I need decent gas mileage, so the BIG SUV's are out of the question.
*Sigh*....I do not enjoy buying cars.

Wow sorry I ask a question and then forget to check back! :shame:

Anyway, wow you drive 25k a year?! What do you drive so much for??

I'm good! I'm enjoying the evening in. Weather was YUK today so I kicked my own butt at the gym and now I DIE! Watching "The Proposal" in my BED.

What are you up to?

I know, the weather here has been crappy too!! Finally today I saw the sun. I wish I was motivated enough to go to the gym/:p

How was the proposal? I want to see it!!
