Well, I'd say there would be at least 10 living within 100 meters of my house. (Given that my 2 story house has a frontage of about 10 metres).
They are a native animal to Japan from what I know. Really smart. So easy to train. Very economical with the barking - only if it's warranted. Really happy to see you when you walk in the door, but calm down quickly. My other half is so thrilled with these two - he thinks they're the perfect dogs. Ours are mixed breeds, their parents are both Shibas, but different colors, possibly a grandparent was an industrial size Shiba. They have their second injection this week then in 2 weeks we can start walking them! Woo hoo.

I feel your pain...I sold 2 items this week also but I have more coming (only 1 is for me...teehee...success!) so I will be a busy bee!

They are adorable! I hear they like to entertain themselves. I've always wanted one, but have held off b/c I don't think their temperment would go well with my Golden Retriever.
Did you guys ever see that Shiba Inu Puppy webcam? Someone recorded a box of Shiba Inu Puppies growing up until they were sold.

Thanks - although I took a loss on both I guess thats what happens! I hate the packing when I cant find a box to fit!! LOL I have a ton of free ones that I get from ebay but they never seem to be big enough for purses.

Leothelnss - Your pup is soooooooooooooo adorable! Those little Shiba's are taking over the world! How large are they when they are full grown? I always swear I am going to get a small dog, but to date, the smallest dog I have owned has been 60 lbs.
