Chloe- Those are cute boots. I'm an avid Ugg wearer in winter because it is brutal here but after my last 2 pairs of Uggs splitting open in the back and getting a hole through the toe within a few months I am considering an alternative. I will admit that they do stand behind their product and even after wearing them 9 months before the split happened the exchanged them for a brand new pair (not sure if it was Ugg or the store I bought them from that has the policy though).

Obviously, the more complicated styles cost more than the simpler ones; but then, that's the same with Ugg, or any other brand, of course.
Oh dear, that doesn't sound good, but at least the store took them back.
I think in the case of retailed things, it's generally down to the store, rather than the manufacturer.
Of course, things do have to be fit for purpose (that's a UK term, but from what I understand, you have similar laws in the US), but 9 months is definitely a decent return period.
