Ahhh stunning !!! Funny , this is exactly what I'm
Planning ! I currently have a 1.6 and planning ( in the next year) to upgrade to 3-3.5 in a classic 6 prong setting .... Yours looks stunning !

Thanks Machick333! You must be so excited for your upgrade! You'll definitely notice a big difference going up to a 3+ct. Although DSS has already set in - LOL.

Wow!!! What a gorgeous diamond!! Your fingers must be so teenie as you have mega coverage!! Are you sure it's not bigger than 3.01?! Lol ;)

I wish! My finger size is around 5 1/2. I always wish that I had tinier fingers - LOL. I've actually debated if I should halo my ring for more coverage (and I love the look of halos) but I really love the classic 6 prong setting too.

Oh its so lovely as it is! it looks very big!! there are a few 3.50+ in here, and yours looks just as big or bigger!

Before I put my diamond upgrade in the classic Tiffany 6 prong setting, I tried it out in a halo setting. I've attached a few photos. The halo was beautiful but I hated it with a band (they sat flush and I couldn't stand the way it looked - you'll see I pushed them apart in just about every photo) and I hated not wearing my wedding band with it (which is a larger eternity band which just didn't look right with the halo). Anyways, I'm really happy with it now that it's in the simple setting. The solitaire setting make my diamond look a lot bigger even though the halo has more finger coverage. I'm interested to know what everyone thinks.

I agree, it looks good in a halo setting but even better without:)

Wow ... That's a lot of sparkle ! :) But I think you definitely made the right choice ! With the halo you can't tell exaclty where the diamond ends and the halo starts ... Agree 100% the solitaire setting makes your ring look bigger !
Btw, love your roadster ;)

Gorgeous both ways but your solitaire is perfection!!! Amazing ring!

Both are gorgeous! It's so interesting how some people like them to be flush, and others don't! You made a great choice! Stunning!

Woaa! It looks beautiful with the Halo too! If I was you, I would have gone mental trying to decide which one I liked best! So tough!!! I have a halo, but I have a modest 1.02 centre stone. My halo is tiny tho. Yours, I think you make the right choice letting your stone speak for itself, no jazzing up needed!! :graucho:

I think you made the right decision, the diamond stands out more in the solitaire setting. Maybe the halo is better for smaller stone, eg. 1 ish ct
