Popped onto the mulberry site for the first time in months and was chuffed to see Alexa featured on the landing page, love the new style and colours though not 100% sold on the new handle (it looks like a Daria hobo handle stuck on top?). Lexie has always been my favourite and I’m very, very tempted to add a green to the collection.
Yeah I'm not keen on the new handle, I think the twist braid works better on the Mini where it's not so noticeable.
I’m eyeing on the mini alexa chalk one. I’m 42 as well it depends on your style ask yourself do you like the color, do you think you can match this we a lot of outfits etc etc. I normally like to go natural because it can match my aesthetic attires. I hope you enjoy wearing it. It’s a nice pop of fun bag...I didn’t want to love it. You need sunglasses to look at it and I’m am worried I’m too old to carry her (I’m 42) but there’s something about her I love

I have an old model in smooth calf (I think) leather, with a canvas lining. It's fairly heavy, but less so than say, the shrunken calf (which I think has the thickest leather). It looks like they're using a different leather altogether for the relaunch.
The buffalo and printed leathers are significantly lighter, but at the tradeoff of being much thinner (at least for the ones that I've handled).
If you're petite, consider getting the mini, I have to use my reg Alexa as a top handle only bag and the turnlock drives me crazy. Wish I got the mini instead

I am considering to join the family as I've got different Mulberry bags such as the Cara, the Taylor and other models but no Alexa yet.
I am not a fan of mini bags (especially because I tend to bring stuff around with me so I struggle to get everything I want in mini bags) so I am thinking of buying a regular size or even an oversized one. However I fear the oversize model may be a little too big (I would like to use this bag also in more formal occasions). What do you think?

I’m considering the new mini Alexa in chalk. Those of you who have had it for a while, how well does the structure hold up with the new grained leather?
The old Alexa was my first designer item and I am still in love with the messenger style, but I have not touched my old Alexa because of the lack of structure and size. I’ve gotten used to stiffer and smaller purses since.

Are these two bags the regular and the mini? I’ve been debating between the two sizes. i am not sure if the mini is too mini, and if the regular will be too large.
The oak one is the first version of Alexa in the regular size from 2013 I Think I got kt kn and The black is The mini
I‘m new to Mulberry bags, so can you explain your thought about the different leather on the Alexa? The newer bags appear in pebbled leather but there are also (older?) bags in smooth nappa lamb leather. Which one do you prefer an why? Thank you ladies!
