I had 2 white edge Florentine handbags years ago, when they first released the style.
They are stunning.....BUT be careful. On mine, the white edge picked up color transfer.
But worse, when the white was pressed against the rest of the handbag, it damaged the
leather of the handbag.... it pulled off the color and top layer of the leather.
It was partly my fault, since the handles rested against the front and back of the bag.
But I've never had this happen before and it happened on 2 Flo bags with white trim.
Dooney might have improved the white edge coating. I don't know.
Just be careful how you store the bags, especially the handles/straps. I would be sure to
wrap the handles/straps in tissue paper before storage. You can always wash the
tissue paper residue off if it sticks to the white edging. But at least the rest of your
bag will be protected.
And yes, I'm tempted to buy another one. They are so sharp looking.
But I don't need any more handbags. So when I buy more, which I probably
will, it probably won't be another white edge style.
