Brahmin had one leather line that was like Florentine, it was called TopSail.

I have watched videos of the ladies unboxing the duxburys. I was really interested in the large duxbury. They come in sooooo many pretty colors I would definitely have a hard time choosing what color I wanted.
LJ how do you care for the leather on these bags? Are they heavy? They are so sophisticated and chic.
With the topsail leather does it scratch easily and rain spot?
I might have to sneak over to the Brahmin forum and peep the eye candy

Dooney has had some smaller, similar Florentine handbags, with much shorter
shoulder straps. I have one in navy, and my guess is it's about the size of the
Flo mini, no bigger. The strap is very short. Since I hand carry, it's not an issue,
but if would tuck right under the arm pit if someone tried to shoulder carry.

Yes, the TopSail scratches easily. I haven't used it enough to know if it rain spots,
but I'm guessing it does. It's a very heavy, thick leather. The ones I have are
veru smooth, finely grained, not pebbled. Like Florentime the TopSail can show
natural variations of the leather. It was a very limited collection, and by the time
I discovered it, I couldn't find many handbags available in Brahmin stores.
I've never explored the second hand market for them.

Here’s the red flo satchel I got last month from ThredUp. It’s the older satchel, that doesn’t have the structured bottom. She’s got a few dings in her, but don’t we all?! 😅I cleaned her up with some leather CPR, and she still has that Flo smell.

I have collected all Flo satchels in the 5 sizes D&B offers. I’m so glad to have grabbed this red one, because I wanted a red, white, and blue theme.

Naming of the sizes of the Florentine satchels has been confusing... both over time
and as a result of the more recent renaming.

In the beginning....😁 there was the mini, the small (12" base) and the
medium (15" base).

Then they added the micro and the nano.

Then they renamed the small satchel as just the Florentine satchel,
with a length of 13".

And the former medium (15"), which has always been big
(and the largest Flo satchel 0ffered) which was often referred to as just
the Florentine Satchel in the past, is now called the large and the measurement
shows on Dooney as 14" long.

Adding to the naming confusion, we don't know if the actual handbag
sizes are different than they were originally. Is the small, now regular satchel,
the same size as it always was? Is the listed size change from 12" to 13"
indicative of just the way the bag is measured?
Is the new large (at 14") the same size as the old medium at 15")?

And if we are not totally confused already, there are other satchels in the
Florentine collection with white trim detail or corner leather trim that are
also called Florentine satchels. I have no idea how these bag sizes fit
into the current or former Flo satchel nomenclature.

If you are buying a new Flo bag from Dooney or ILD or QVC where
they list the measurements, then hopefully the size name won't be too
much of an issue, past an initial potential confusion. But be sure to check
the measurements online and don't rely only on what is said during
a presentation. QVC hosts have been known to mix up the size references.
And visual size jguessing can be misleading, depending upon technology.
(The pictures on my TV for QVC2 is much taller and narrower than for QVC main
channel.)

If you are buying a preloved handbag.... it will be harder to be sure you get the
size (measurement) you want. Don't trust the bag name alone.

That show was WILD for the time period. But the whole 80s Miami aesthetic, clothing, music, was absolute fire!!
The song "Somebody's Watching Me", is forever cemented with that scene of Tubbs in the strip club. LMAO

That show was So Cool!! It did some serious damage to my social calendar tho. It was a REQUIREMENT to be home to watch it. 😍🤣
