Update: So the glue was kind of gunky and rubbery so I was able to peel some of it off. I found the registration card in one of the pockets I missed. I was massaging the side that was feeling a bit hard and was able to get a smile from the bag. Hopefully with use, the leather will soften up.

Here she is all stuffed up. Also a pic of my Nano triplets.

All 3 are so lovely I would have a hard time choosing which to carry. They sent you some really nice leathers, esp the black. Looks sooo smooth. Beautiful!

I am soooooo excited. I was able to get another wishlist item. I always wanted a red tulip shopper. I caught the navy first. After carrying the navy I knew if I saw the red I was gonna get it. I absolutely love the strap drop, size and shape of the tulip shopper. A red came up for sale and yes indeed it was meant for me to have.
also I wanted the Lizie florentine in Ivy as my date nite bag, holding just a card case phone and lippy. Pulled the trigger and both of these will be arriving soon…

I am posting a question here for all the Florentine D&B lovers. I have countess Coach bags and was considering adding a D&B Florentine satchel in natural to my collection. I have never seen one in person and was wondering what your thoughts are on how it stacks up against Coach both in quality and beauty. I thought who better to ask than this group. Their customer service tells me they charge a service fee to return if undamaged so just trying to do my homework before spending the money. 😊

I own countless D&B Florentine handbags (and other leathers also) and a few Coach handbags. I'll give you my thoughts on the leather, the craftsmanship, and the styling.
I'm sure others will add their views also.

Dooney Florentine leather is one of the best Dooney leathers. It is produced (tanned)
in Italy using high end techniques... vegetable tanned, etc. (The handbag itself is likely
manufactured elsewhere in the world). The leather surface may be
smooth or naturally pebbled, or a combination. It is natural, not embossed. The color natural in Florentine leather has no dyes. It starts out a soft camel color and darkens over time with exposure to air and use. Water spots should dry, but the leather can stain and
will absorb oils, dirt, and excess dye from clothing. Florentine leather will also show
scratches, but they can often be buffed out with a soft cloth.
Florentine leather is generally thick but pliable. Larger handbags can be heavy.

As for craftsmanship, in general, Dooney has excellent craftmanship and I find t
superior to most of the Coach handbags I have. Dooney craftsmanship is
as good as or better than Coach Rogue or Dreamer craftsmanship in my opinion.

As for styling, that is personal. Some Dooney satchel have a lot of belting and trim
detail and others are more streamlined. Which bag are you looking at?

I would suggest you review things like strap drop and width and handle drop
to be sure the handbag will work for your needs. Everyone has their own criteria
based on whether they wear a bag hand held, on the shoulder, or cross body.
Many Dooney handbags have 3 part detachable shoulder/cross body straps,
These are great options.

The metal used in the Florentine line is a soft brushed gold color, quite lovely.
It's also gold plated.

Please feel free to ask any other specific questions you might have.
I wish you could visit a store that sells the bag so you could see it for yourself.
It's hard to buy a handbag in a new brand having never touched or seen it.
Are you near any Dooney outlets?

I just started collecting dooney Florentine last year. Before that all I had was vintage coach. I only have one newer coach Bag. I saw a video of the florentine satchel, and I thought it was soooooooo beautiful. A couple of things really surprised me when I got my first Florentine bag. The leather is thick, thicker than my vintage duffle sacs, saddle bags, and backpack. The quality of my satchels is fabulous. I have 3 large and one mini. In my opinion florentine leather will hold up like vintage coach and look good for years to come. The red cotton lining and inside organization of dooneys is great. A welcome change to a black hole in most bags. When you can catch a sale the Florentine satchels are a great deal. The leather scratches but the scratches can be buffed out, no problem. I have had one bag rain spot but I was able to condition it and blend the snow spots. My large chestnut satchel gets wet in the rain and dries fine.
I am in LOVE with Dooney Florentine leather. It’s worth having at least one. Try going to macys or dillards and seeing one in person

My goodness these bags are so adorable! Love your nano collection.

A few months ago, I purchased a small black mail satchel from ShopGoodwill Hawaii. It came with the black black Sammi keychain. When I received the bag I noticed some black gunk on it, kind of looked like tar. Turns out it was from the keychain. I’m assuming since it came from Hawaii, with much warmer weather, and the way it was stored, the edge coat rubbed off onto the purse. Because the keychain felt sticky to touch. I took a washcloth under hot water, and let it sit on top of the spots, and used another washcloth to carefully rub the spots out. It worked.

I’m glad to see you were able to get the glue gunk out of your new nanos.

@mushroomNgrass I just watched your most recent video, "Dooney & Bourke Florentine wishlist 2024 items".
I love your beautiful items. Keep the videos coming!
Thank you so much for watching. Rue I am seeing a lot of gems pop up. Unbelievable deals, NWT on the secondary market. I’m trying to restrain myself, it’s really hard looking at the pics. I don’t need anything else, but one of my wishlist items on my watchlist is enticing me to pull the trigger… it’s been on my watchlist for months… it’s the Florentine medium zip crossbody… does anyone have this bag? Can you tell me how it carries?

I thinks what saves me money is my obsession with red bags. I've learned if I buy a a bag in another color, and it turns out I really love carrying it, I immediately start looking for it in red. I try not to buy a bag if I think I'm going to love it, if it's not red. It's a crazy obsession but it has saved me money in the long run. For example, I don't have multiples of the same style in different colors (unless I didn't buy it in red the first time. )

This makes sense, a lot of sense. If you bought a bag that wasn’t red, what color did you gravitate towards? Rue I can’t seem to choose a favorite color. Can you help me out? LOL
I think most of my bags are navy and chestnut. So I guess I have 2 favorites? I think I really understand what you mean with the multiples, only if I really REALLY love the bag. Thank you.

I'm ready to try red, will be my first red Florentine, and the ORIGINAL wishlist red tulip shopper. It’s out for 📦 delivery.
And I am really bummed out. The seller was cross selling the Ivy Lizie on multiple sites so it sold out, but I was able to get the Florentine Lizie Nwt cheaper in navy. I had my little heart set on Ivy, guess it wasn’t meant for me to have at this time… the Lizie is tiny but so perfect for date nite/ evening out.
