Kitty: heavy is relative in a handbag. I am particularly sensitive due to arthritis, so my
handbag weight tolerance is probably much lower than someone who is younger,
stronger, and without issues. As a rule, I try to keep my handbags
at under 2 lbs. empty. Not always possible, especially on the larger bags I like
and the better leathers like Florentine. But for me, over 2.5 lbs will be a problem.
And I can only hand or arm carry, never shoulder or cross body anymore.
I can't carry the large Florentine satchel even if it's empty, for example.
And when I looked at the weight on the large pebble satchel in the same
(or similar) design to the Florentine one, I knew it would be too heavy for
me to comfortably carry.
In addition to the handbag weight, there are the contents to consider...
and no matter how I try to eliminate stuff, I still have 4 house keys,
car fob, wallet, credit card case, cosmetic/meds case, misc. pouch, and
a cell phone. The keys alone add a lot of weight. I'm amazed with I see
what's in my bag videos with only a car fob and no house keys, and
no backup supplies of anything.
But if handbag weight is not an issue for you, then it's worth a try.
The Florentine bag is stunning and a statement piece. I love your color choice...

This morning, on page 3 of the NY Times there is a picture from
Feb 1972 showing 2 ladies sharing an umbrella in the rain.
One is carrying a large domed satchel that looks like it could be
the sister to the Flo large domed satchel I just bought.
The other lady is carrying a framed kiss lock handbag.
No wonder I gravitate to domed satchels. In the mid 70's I was
working and living in NYC. I was able to take advantage of the
after Christmas handbag sales at some of the better department stores.
I inherited my love of handbags and shopping on sale from my Mom.
Kitty: I just watched the QVC presentation on the Florentine version of the bag....
the Dooney rep said it was 3 lbs 5 ozs. That's not bad at all!
I would even buy it at the right price in the right colors.

I’m also completely flabbergasted, in an amazed look at all that stuff she fit in that tiny bag way, when I see what’s in my bag featuring a tiny tiny bag full of stuff. It’s like a clown car of bags, which is awesome. I love the nano and micro Florentine satchels. I really wanted the micro. I just can not see getting to my phone without pulling everything out. I think it’s great people can pare down their carry to fit into tiny bags. Mind you the tiny domed crossbody that I have is sooooooooo stinking cute, same size as the micro, but the domed opening makes it so I don’t have to take everything out of the bag to get to my phone…
I have a HUGE Florentine bag in sight. The seller keeps lowering the price…. It’s black, ugh, but that’s ok. Will be my first black Florentine if I can get it. It’s a rare find, and it is awesome. There are many new bags that I would like to add to my collection, but I really would LOVE to have this older bag. It’s the only one I’ve seen up for sale in this size. Fingers crossed i can get it.

Regarding Poshmark, I noticed a db75 kisslock that I had tried to dicker down in cost from $88 is still listed at $88. I ordered one from DB for $39. SO very glad I waited!
BTW - I don't know when ILD went up to $15 shipping, but have you noticed they are charging tax on shipping? That's state regulated, but charging tax on the cost of shipping JUST AIN'T RIGHT.
The Bolide is what inspired me to get my avatar bag, the Toscana satchel. I can't afford the Bolide and now I'm very happy with my Toscana satchel.

I really don’t need another huge bag. I have my unicorn Tilton, which I can’t wait for my first trip to use her. But this huge Florentine is calling. * inserts mantra… I don’t need to buy every bag that I lIke in every color*
If it’s still available, after I sleep on it a couple more days, I will take it as a sign that it’s meant for me to have…

After my initial 2 purchases, they locked my account. They wanted me to upload my DL or Passport. I emailed them basically saying I’m not uploading any of that onto your platform. And they unlocked my account yesterday.

I saw this somewhere else, YouTube I think. When I was uploading my video, I think it said something about my id… uh um that’s a negative. Why they need my id? I’m not selling anything, hurting anyone, uploading spam nor any violent content….
Ive been shopping ebay since 2004 and I am verified from back then. They will lose me if they ask for a pic of my id….. PERIODT….

Right?! I’ve seen so many fake D&B on PM! A few weeks ago, I saw what was probably the worst fake D&B ever. The fake AWL logo was sewn onto the buckle. And on the AWL logo, “weather” was spelled wrong. I was like wtf is this Frankenstein bag?!
Right?! I did a google to see if this was a consistent issue. And it seems like it is. Lots of Reddit posts about PM asking for this.
I was like, well the seller never contacted me about payment issues. So obviously the payment went through on PM. You got your cut of the profit PM, now you’re asking me to verify who I am?! Yeah, I’ll take things that won’t happen for $100, PM.
In the end, they did unlock my account. Maybe I should have kept it locked, this app could be dangerous with all the vintage bags.
