Good points! I love the heart shape- it's very regal and the gold details are elegant. So maybe in a black or a red- I've been looking to purchase a red crossbody bag. People may suggest the Chanel Boy or Diorama and that's okay- but I want something a bit more affordable yet still elegant. I'd also consider YSL!
Yes. But. There is a big fat plus of CHANEL, that I was marking in my video about Dolce too. Chanel is not just a bag, but also investment. ( I don’t have anything to invest, I guess, still didn’t buy any ) YSL unfortunately loose a lot at the second hand market... too much.. even in Moscow, as you know or not, where the second hand prices are very cool and low)... Anyway. This Dolce is a very pretty bag, something special, and very feminine, like Dolce always do! But. Reminds me Moschino logo a little bit..more variants?

.. facebook blocked me - now I can’t even send private messages to my friends- what could be worst  hold on))))))))) just text. But.. I guess it’s better speak about bags here! Beauty is beauty

What reason did FB give for blocking you?

@asnegos gorgeous bag and I hope you enjoy it! Hooray for Black Friday sales! Now I'll discuss your comments about D&G's 'popularity'.

I think that D&G doesn't have the reputation in handbags as other houses- not because they are lower quality (they're not), but because they've been in the handbag game for less time. But I also feel that D&G is way more experimental with their bags and fit a much smaller 'niche' whereas houses such as Chanel, Valentino appeal to more people.

D&G is interesting- because I own quite a few of their ready to wear pieces and shoes. People look at them, and admire and compliment them- but they make it clear that they would never wear it. It's not an insult, because you can tell it just doesn't fit in with their usual style / what they are used to purchasing.

Dolce and Gabbana do not play by the rules. They never have, and never will. You can't call them a 'classic' brand or a 'seasonal trendy brand'. They're a beast of their own. Personally- that's what attracts me to them. I like unique and original bags. As for resale value- no, it's not great. However, I've noticed that those who buy D&G bags tend to adore them and because it's a lower price point than say, Dior bags- there is a lower sense of buyers remorse. I was looking for second hand D&G bags and it was really hard because I don't think people are selling them. That leads me to think that a large majority of people who buy D&G end up loving them and not wanting to sell them. I think 'resell value' isn't the most important thing when purchasing a bag that's meant to bring you joy. But that's a discussion of its own x

Anyway, I hope in the future D&G get their own section on this site. That'll be alot of fun.
I just read threads and not really comment on them but when I read your comment, wow, I totally agree! I feel the same way. It is getting very boring seeing the same bags over and over again (Chanel classic flaps, Hermes birkins and kellys, LV neverfulls and speedys). Bags should reflect the personality of the wearer and should be enjoyed [emoji4] I was looking at this exact same bag from D&G as well.

I feel like a 'newbie' on the PurseForum not because I joined recently, but because my handbag collection is 2 Coach Bags, a Love Moschino tote and a heavily discounted Marc Jacobs bag. I consider Dolce & Gabbana to be of a higher price point than those brands- so this purchase feels like 'my first major designer bag' because all the previous brand new bags I didn't pay over a certain price point.

I wanted my 'first major designer bag' to be special. There's alot of advice online about how your first handbag purchase should be a 'classic investment' (Speedy, Chanel small). But those bags don't make my heart sing.

Here is my first major designer bag

Let's discuss this bag. It's from the Fairytale collection Winter 16 / 17. I purchased it from Reebonz. Now, I love fairytales. Alot. And this bag tells a story. As someone who'd like to one day tell stories of my own (aspiring author here!) I am drawn to things that hint at something greater. I'm also getting German Christmas vibes from this bag. Last year, I went on a holiday with my sister and mother to German Christmas markets. I don't get to hang out with my sister that much, so I have really nice memories. Can't wait to wear this to events- because Dolce & Gabbana is a great compliment starting point (my ready to wear clothes always gets compliments and stares!)

I'm of the opinion that our bags should bring us joy. In a world where you have to beg for Birkins, stress over Chanel price increases- I didn't want my first 'major' designer bag to feel like I was playing some cruel game. I wanted to pick a bag that made my heart sing.

Will this bag sell horribly if I try to resell it? Yeah, probably. Is it a seasonal bag that's probably already out of trend? Who knows. But fashion and luxury, to me, are outlets to have fun, experiment, express and accept yourself. And of course my first 'major' handbag purchase will tick those boxes.

Dolce & Gabbana produce luxury that tells stories, turns heads and commands a discussion. I want to do that- with or without a handbag or anything luxurious. Yes, this bag is 'different'- perfect! I pride myself on doing things different to others.

This got long, and I hope it's fine for me to ramble on- it's just I'm not used to buying designer bags of this caliber, and I'm really excited and I wanted to share it with others.

What size is this pretty bag? Does it wear well?

Thank you—this is my only Dolce bag, and I don’t know that much about the brand, so I don’t know what the official sizing is—my best guess is medium. I can easily put keys, a small wallet, a small pouch, and a large iPhone in there with room to spare.

I’ve only used the bag about 4-6x a year. It has held its shape with no other apparent problems (like popped stitches, etc), so I’d say it wears well. I highly recommend the Sicily Bags[emoji106][emoji106][emoji106].
