they are exciting and yes they make me happy! it can also bum me out thinking about all of the money i have spent on these bags, but in the end ... i'm happy to have these bags!

For me I'm happy with my few designers but it doesn't necessarily make my life very happy. It's just the topping on the cake. As I said there are many things that makes me happy that doesn't cost anything,or not costing much. My health,my family,no calamities, buying flowers,cleaning the house etc., etc... that's my opinion.
It's difficult to explain my attitude about designer bags . . .
I love wearing designer handbags that compliment my style, which in turn contributes to forming a positive self-image. I believe a woman's self-image is immensely important to her self-confidence and sense of well-being.

Yes - it's a great feeling to carry around a designer bag that I like and not to care if anybody else likes it. If buying the bags I like make me unhappy of course I wouldn't buy them in the first place. Owning designer bags is simply just one of the things that make me happy.
Same to me. Material possessions are not the essence of my happiness. There are more important things in life. I do enjoy my bags and get pleasure from them, but that is not the reason for my happiness in life.
I suppose they must do, as I have them. It's a tricky business though as it's got to be a marriage of form and function for the most part. It's easier say, with something like art or antiques because you either like it or you don't and quite often function doesn't come into it. You can have that same feeling about a bag, but the function of it is forced upon you by it's very nature, and if you want to use it regularly it becomes very important, because if it doesn't work for you (say weight, closures, straps etc.) it can become very irritating very quickly, regardless of how it looks or who made it.
I'm sure no-ones happiness depends on a bag as can be seen in replies here, but I find it kind of satisfying when I feel that I've bought something that marries the artistic to the functional, and that it works for me and feels right.

yuuup my bags make me happy. I love talking about them here in my free time when im not with my friends/family or boyfriend, I love shopping around looking at different bags, and I love carrying my bags i worked hard for. With that said, if i no longer had my bags i would not be unhappy...they are just my fun thing i like =] ! ..I think maybe some people who posted thought the question was more like, are your bags the reason your happy in life...idk thats not how i took the question.
It's nice to have quality items that I know will stand abuse and last for a long time and/or knowing you have rewarded yourself with something nice for a special occasion or accomplishment.
