Hello, For the record again, I no longer recommend Blackrock too many having issues with application and tons of folks using it on non recommended leathers which will have a messy result.

On to your question,
Regarding your bag, its not just surface marks which will just clean off... when dark marks sit on top of light colored leathers they often stain the leather so even if you manage to clean of the surface you often have a stain. Additionally you have areas with missing top skin on your corners those would need corrected with color restoration either at Hermes spa or another trusted professional or via a luxury leather color touch up kit at home.
I hope this helps? All the best, doc
PS: box calf and charmonix are basically the same the later can be considered the matte version.
Thanks doc ride!!

Hi again Doc, decided against the light Chamonix Kelly given the stains so I'm thinking of getting this rouge H Kelly, it is a stamp C in Togo leather. I'm aware Togo in different years look quite different - is this indeed Togo? I was also thinking could it perhaps be Ardennes? And if so, how do I clean off a small black mark at the back ? Photos attached! Thanks!

Dear docride, you've been a great help with a vintage Kelly and Drag over the last year, now I acquired a Shoulder Birkin in white from 2010 stamped N in a square. Could you identify the leather? i'm thinking Togo. The bag is in great condition, but maybe you have some tips and tricks for my first Birkin, especially since it's a white one. Thank you!

Hi Docride,
I have a red plume whose zipper does not run very smooth but rather rough. I am wondering with all your experience if you could recommend something to me to make the zipper run a little easier. Thank you!

Hi Docride,

Do you have any advice on how to remove these two little patches on my epsom leather bag on the far right? I have tried cleaning it off with a damp cloth but it made no difference. Also, any idea what these patches are? I can only really see it in a particular angle.

Any advice will be great! [emoji1]

Thanks

HI Docride,

I'm beyond impressed with the work you have done restoring vintage Hermes bags. I am considering purchasing a vintage Birkin, but there is significant edge wear, corner wear, color transfer, etc. The pictures are at the following link: http://www.fashionphile.com/hermes-epsom-birkin-35-gold-133622
If I were to send this Birkin to a restorer like yourself, are these issues that could be fixed or is the bag permanently stained? Thank you in advance for your assistance, I am amazed at the level of beauty you have been able to achieve with other bags.

IMG_2333.jpg Hi Docride,

Could you confirm for me that my new to me bag is barenia (or is it VN)? Also, could you give me instructions on how to clean and condition it so that it achieves that beautiful, even, rich patina, and specifically, which products and steps you'd recommend?

Thank you so much!

Hi @docride... I thought I'd add this photo so that you can see the effect I'm looking for... I know I should be patient, but I'd love to condition my bag so that it looks like this!! Please let me know how to achieve this gorgeous patina. Thank you so much!!

Hi Doc!
I have a question regarding the plaque on a birkin: have you heard of instances where the plaque has separated from the satchel? Is this a common issue and one that is easily fixed? TIA!

Hi docride,

After conditioning the bag with meltonian delicate cream , there seems to have tiny fine hair like sticking on the bag.

I think it is on the bag even before conditioning.

Tried to wipe with cotton cloth but seems not all coming off.

Any solution for this?

Thanks.
What leather did you use this on? It sounds like you have too much residue on your bag and hence its sticky or tacky... I'd clean it...
