Dear ladies and Doc! I would really appreciate your advice. What do you think about these corners? its togo leather, raisin color. Is it better to go to hermes spa? i am afraid it will take forever. Maybe you can recommend something else? or some good places in Washington D.C.- New York area?

Dear Docride,

First of all, please accept my apologies if this question had been posted in the past.
Do you have any advice on how to start with cleaning the leather and the toile? I might consider doing it myself.
Docride, thank you for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate it.

Hi there, The cleaning of toile canvas isn't my area so I'll skip that part...you can try a dry cleaner.
The leather is veau porc (pig skin) its a semifinished leather. The darker areas are mostly gong to stay even with cleaning...
But certainly start with cleaning with a cleaner for unfinished leather .. you can use Lexxol PH cleanser on this leather.
All the best,doc

Hi, Doc! Hope you are doing well. Please if you could spare some time, take a look at this scuffing and condition on Courchevel leather and I would appreciate your opinion on if it could be fixed with Luxury Again kit or any other product for that matter? Much appreciated.

Hi, a color touch up kit would do the trick... you can mix your own also with a few tarrago color dyes or Argus dyes...
All the best,doc

Dear Doc, I'm having an Obenaufs crisis and desperate for you help! I just acquired a beautiful new-to-me Porc Bolide in flawless condition, and wanted to protect it a bit with a light layer of Obenaufs. I tested it first, of course-- on the clochette and then the bottom of the bag-- and it looked great. But when I applied to the midsection of the bag, some of the leather seemed to "grab" the Obenaufs differently than other parts, and now, a little over 12 hours after application, the bag is splotched with darker areas. It doesn't appear that it's sinking in any further. Is there anything I can do to remove or even out these spots? I'm so sad-- it was so beautiful when it arrived.

Hi Doc,
I got a goo all over the handles of my Togo Birkin. Any recommendations of what I should use to remove it? Also, I have some dark spots on my handles and on one spot of my bag. Any recommendations of what I can use to clean it?

Thank you!

Hi .... First off do you know what the Goo is ?
Thank you, doc

Hi there Yikes! Im sure you are upset....
I no longer recommend obenaufs' L.P. or Blackrock... I did for certain leathers only (vache natural and Dark Box calf) but then folks got into trouble with using it on everything and also in not using it in a proper way...
The leather that is worn or has not finish will suck up oils and waxes then darken... this is the case here.. you had an area of less semi finish and or wear there and those areas sucked up the obenauf's. LP? Was this the LP product?
Eventually it will fade some... cleaning can help some but you are kinda in a spot now.
Leave it for a few days and see if its has faded enough to be less noticeable... at this point do not do anything just wait...... Check back in a few days OK? Hang in there....
Hugs, doc

Hi Doc,

In addition to the question posted by bagLoVera, could you suggest the best ways to care for brand new B and K in Togo? I mean in terms of possibly needing to wipe off handles, bottom and sides from time to time and if so, what wipes to use (or just use a soft and moist with water tissue/fabric)? Thanks in advance!

On togo, yes you could use a water dampened wash cloth also there are some great cleansing wipes for leather out there...I can not recommend our products here I can how ever say NEVER USE BABY WIPES! Also you don't want to use anything oli based like marke up removing wipes... always choose products made for leather and always test a small hidden area first and wait a bit to make sure you like the results.
Additionally do not scrub and rub your leather or try to clean it too often... that will add wear and tear to your bag...

I hope this helps?

All the best,doc

Hi .... First off do you know what the Goo is ?
Thank you, doc
Yes, I wrapped my handles with this gauze that I thought helped keep my twilly on. I forgot I put it on over a year ago and went to take my twilly off, and the gauze was stuck to my handles and it was a goo, kind of like glue. I used water to try to take it off, but my handle is still sticky, so I wasn't sure what the proper way to remove it.

Hello, I actually don't know what to tell you... because I still don't know what you are dealing with at all... try the least harmful thing ....
I would try a some dawn dish soap on a wet with warm water wash cloth and gently wash it and then pat dry see if that works ... if not you might need a solvent of some sort.. and you should Bring it to a professional and not try it on your own....
good luck, doc

Hi Doc,
I pulled the trigger on a chamonix plume in Rouge H. It's in excellent condition and I'd like to waterproof it. I read earlier in the thread that the B&O method could work on chamonix but just want to doublecheck. Below is a picture. Thank you in advance.

Hi there, I no longer recommend that method universally but it can work on charmonix additionally folks often use too much product. I prefer a lighter product personally. f this is what you have on hand then proceed with care always test a small hidden area first.
I prefer a weather shield , Meltonian All purpose for instance.
Good luck, doc
