Hi Doc!
Hope you are well.
This is listed as a Brown B35 Ardennes. But I am thinking it is Noisette?
Wondering though if the corners have been repaired (there is no information on the listing if it has been touched up elsewhere), but the pricing is super attractive. I would hate to buy anything that can't be taken into the spa though.
Would appreciate your thoughts on the below :
Many thanks in advance, as always!

to Remove it - is that something I can do or a pro before sending to spa?

TIA
hope you have a good week ahead.

I’d say , Probably best to use a pro …
Think about spa with H , do you need additional colorwork Hermes colorwork will usually be done only on corners and is semipermanent so it will slip off. If you have to remove a permanent type of color work Hermes might work on it or refuse to completely up to them and how excellent the color removal was done.
If just color work maybe save yourself trouble and have a non H pro do it ?
If however you think you’ll need hardware replacement or new handles in future and this is very important to you then maybe wait for a bag without any aftermarket work done to it?
Hope that helps ?
Personally ,I think it’s a nice bag and at a good price you can get years of use out of without having to take it anywhere for work so it might pencil out as a great deal regardless of whether Hermes will service it or not .

All the best ! Doc

Thank you for your perspective, so balanced as always. You’re right about waiting for a bag with no aftermarket work. it is under 6K usd for a B35 Ardennes but still a lot of money. Lots to think about. I am on Ban Island until 1 January so I have to sit on my hands anyway! ha ha.
Happy Hols!

I think an under 6k birkin that's not breaking and serviceable is worth picking up if you want a workhorse that’s not too precious without breaking the piggy bank.
Just saying . Hermes spa is nice but general upkeep can be handled by other trusted professionals if the bag has some aftermarket work if Hermes refuses. Or buy use it for a year or two and resell it ?
Just saying ….
But only if you actually like the bag as it is .
All the best doc

Hello Doc! I am in the market for exactly this kind of serviceable workhorse bag, & have found one on the preloved market that I’d be grateful to hear your thoughts on. It’s a B35 (blind stamp C in square) being listed as Chamonix, & supposedly it has no holes anywhere in the stitching, but based on the photos there’s quite a bit of cracking on the edges. What do you think? Could this be spa’d or treated by some other trusted professional? Is the leather too cracked to be saved?

Hi there , this was once a beautiful vache naturelle / natural
However it is not a restoration project in my opinion. The cracking is extensive enough to be advised to run away !
If you find others or want some extra help come on back or Pm me .
All the best doc

Oh thank you, Doc, for your wise and incredibly helpful input on this matter. As you advise, I am going to run, run away from this possible purchase, and by all means may ping you again - if you don’t mind - should something else like this pop up in the future. Meantime, happy holidays, & again, my warmest thanks - VV  :flowers:

Hi Doc!

Wanted to ask your expertise on a mini Kelly. I purchased this second hand recently and it seems there might be some imprint from possibly bag inserts on the epsom? Wanted to see if there’s anything I can do to fix/undo it myself or if I can/need to bring into hermes spa? Would love to know. Thanks for your time!

Hi Doc! Wanted to ask your advice on a vintage vache naturel B (I believe it is VN leather..?). I purchased it from a second-hand market place because I was really interested in VN leather. The bag stamp is circle Y 95'. The front of the bag is more okay but the back side of the bag really has many small water stains (I think they look like water stains?). The front side also has some but it is less visible comparing to the back side.

I was really hoping to see a beautiful patina to develop over the years. Do you think if I continue to use it these stains will blend into patina and the bag will look better? Should I do some treatment to it or I am not sure if H offer spa service to VN leather.

Really debating if I should keep it.. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

Speaking of beautiful “natural“ leathers, what do you think, @docride , about the prospects for diminishing light greenish stains like these (circled in red on photo) on natural Chamonix? And what about whitish scuffs like these (circled in blue on photo), also on natural Chamonix?

They accepted my B35 VN to spa, and did a fabulous job.

Hi Doc,
Happy new year! I loved your video on Kelly and Birkin valuations!
I was hoping if I could get your expertise on this 92 vintage Kelly - do you think this is repairable and if the spa would accept and replace the handle base pad?
Thank you so much!

I have another question .. if I try to clean some dirt on my H bag with some cleaning kit, will that prevent H from doing a spa to my bag? I'm a bit afraid that anything I do will prevent the bag from getting an H spa at the boutique in the future.. Would appreciate if anyone has experience about that!!
