I can see what you mean from the photographs because you circled the areas.
It is something that is obvious to you because you know what you did and can see the effect.
I doubt others would notice.
Unless, in real life, the shine is a lot worse than it appears in your photographs I would say your SA gave you good advice.

I think my Kelly SaD is ruined. I applied on it the dermo protect spray (The Handbag Spray) through a small piece of cloth and it is fully stained, as if the leather is not absorbing the product.

I am really worried because, one hour after applying the product, the result is this.

I hope it dries and all this vanishes… But it doesn’t look like so…

Please, is there anything I can do to fix this absolute mess? Thank you .

Dear all, with a lot of care, this morning I applied some steam on the surface of the bag and I cleaned it with a microfibre cloth. All the marks vanished after the cleaning. Luckily, the leather did not absorb the product.

Happy New Year! I hope you are doing well.

Months ago, my Kelly Depeches showed two thin marks I gently buffed with my finger. The marks disappeared. However, the rubbing on the leather made that parts shinier.

If you do not really focus, you cannot tell them. But, depending on the light, you can see the shining parts. You will see in the pictures the marks I am referring to.

Can this be corrected? I take care of my bags and I hate that shiny marks on my Kelly! I took the briefcase to my SA and she told me it is not noticeable at all, that after two years the bag looked like new and that is better to wait to take it to Paris.

From the photos its a bit hard to tell if its shine or color-loss, either of which can be made to look better with a proper spa.

Happy new year!

I recently acquired a preloved black barenia 35 after looking around for a while, and they just sent me close up photos of the bags before shipping. I am lucky to own a few barenia fauve bags, and also another preloved fauve kelly, so am totally cool with the scuffs and all the natural wear. But it's my first black barenia, so i'm wondering if there's anything different i should be doing with it, and also from the pictures attached, the main concern should be the right side (there are some white marks, not sure what...) and the base of the bags. Would appreciate any advice to "refurbish" it, or maybe if its beyond me, send it to H Spa!

Also, do you have tips on cleaning the fabric strap? And cleaning the badly tarnished button inside?

Beautiful barenia Evie just as it is ; of course you can clean and condition your barenia however stains tend not to come off of this leather once they’ve set so have reasonable expectations . There is a thread which shows some products that have worked nicely on this leather in the redo section or if not brave take to Hermes for spa. Fabric isn’t my forte so I’ll advise you ask a fabric expert or a dry cleaner looks like it’s not going to simply clean off ..,it appears lightened or stained ? . As for the metal on the other side of the button never have been asked about this looks like a patina , if it’s brass ? enjoy it it as is but if your bother by it .. try a sunshine cloth see if that helps .

Hello doc,

I just bought this Hermes Kelgo bang and I it got a stain mark on it and also, the leather looks very dry. Would you please tell me what kind of leather is it? The seller stated that it is a calf box leather. I have read so many articles and blogs saying that using Saphir Renovateur will work nicely on this type of leather. Is that correct? what is the best way to remove the stain on the bag and recondition the bag please? Thank you so much for your help

Looks like it’s cracking deeply in many areas, there is paint covering many parts of this bag . IMO this is not restorable to better condition than it is currently in.
