I apologize for the ton of questions. Thank you for the reply!
Your seller has a reputation of being very kind and honest, she also has a return policy. This is kind f a rare bag, if this is your dream bag , skin and combination then I'd go for it.
Good luck. doc
PS> A light scratch shouldn't significantly effect the function of your bag.

Hello! I have a CDC bracelet in black shiny alligator and I am wondering how I can keep it shiny? I know Hermes has machines to polish croc/alligator but is there a way to do it at home safely? Can any regular leather products be used such as conditioner, cleaner or spray protector? Finally, I'm worried that in time there could be cracking in the leather as the bracelet is naturally bent around the wrist and the alligator scales are large; the space between scales could crack. Let me know if this doesn't make sense, I can clarify with photos. Thank in advance!

Hi Docride! How are you doing? I wanted to ask you about this clutch. What leather is it? Is it ardennes? On listing, it said it's kushuburu. I am assuming they think it's epsom. Is that missing stitches on the belt wrapping part on both front and back side? Is that a tear or crack on the inside? Can it be repair? I have sent emails to seller 5-6 days ago asking these questions, but no response yet. I hope you can help me by looking at these pictures. TIA!

Hello, I'm not sure which leather it is. Yes a few dropped stitches, interior area you asked about is not torn , just a lifting of the end of the edge of the finished seam leather from the canvas is the glue giving way. The stitching is holding there this is cosmetic only and yes it could be repaired.
Good luck. doc

I circle the part, is that suppose to be like that or an actual tear? Thanks so much for your fast response!

Hi Doc,
What product/conditioner can i use for the edges
It is a B35 clemence leather.
I am in Germany so we dont have blackrock.
Can i use Bickmore Bick conditioner or Lexol conditioner or Saphir renovatour?
Or what would you suggest?
Help please:smile:

Hi there, Usually pen marks on suede migrate deeply into the nap and do not come off with traditional ink killers.
It might be possible to sand down the top layer but most of the time it just makes a bigger mess.
I find that ink killers used on the the flesh side of the leather tend to push the ink through the leather and it then appears on the outside of your bag. So things to consider.
Good luck, doc

Hello there,
You have color loss, therefore you will not fix the problem using conditioners. An Hermes spa will fix those corners for you. Or
The color restoration can be handled with a little leather dye.
I have a care thread with lists of products in the Hermes reference section, you can find some color restoration products to choose from there. You can also just pop down to your local cobbler and see if they have a some color restoration product on the shelf.
All the best,doc

easiest thing is to take care of it keep it clean and dry, dont let it get wet. And send it to Hermes and let them condition and polish your bracelet for you.
Conditioners for reptile skins are available, although they can sometimes dull the shiny finish an take considerable buffing to bring up the shine. Generally when the shiny surface gets worn away on Shiny reptile skins no amount of conditioning polish and buffing afterward gets the shine quite as high as the original finish. There are super shiny sprays used by cobblers that can give a high shine but it tends not to be long lasting it can flake off if applied too thickly. I hope this helps?
As for worrying about the crocodile skin cracking in between the scales ... I wouldn't spend more time worrying about that, the CDC bracelet has a lining which is a sturdy leather so at least two leathers thick. Its quite strong. Unless its an old CDC I wouldn't worry about it cracking and just upkeep it with Hermes spa or Reptile skin care products.
All the best,doc

Hi, Doc! Hope all is well! I don’t know if you can answer this one, as it’s a protection question for an item that is not solely leather, so no expectations and here goes:

I recently purchased a cavale bag strap, so we have the cavale material (canvas??), leather and hardware. It matches this belt.

I’d like to treat it before I start using it because I have concerns that it will get dirty. Considering the different materials involved here, what would you suggest?
