Dear @docride ,
Thanks for all your help in the past. Please can you advise if this Kelly has been repainted? Am still looking for my first Kelly bag and it’s almost becoming a full time job . Looking forward to your thoughts.

The whole bag does not look repainted from what I can see in the photos . It’s possible the corner s have been touched up and would not be an unusual finding .. I don’t see any obvious visual evidence from the photos to support prior corner touch ups , there could be a little bit… but it’s not like having the bag in hand .
Over all the bag looks quite nice 👍

Hi there It’s probably a deeper scratch , color restoration might help like as received by Hermes spa. I can’t tell if it’s a deeper cut from the photos …
I wish I could give you more definitive answers but I am limited without having the bag in hand. What did the seller say ?

I don’t see the area on the handle base attachment that I’d like to see … you want to check this area for years abd cracks …

Is this bag superficially scratched? bleached? Or at all salvageable? I don’t mind a beaten bag at all, but I don’t want it to fall apart… but I like the handle strap solution. It looks wuite beaten up but when zooming in I am seeing potential…

And what would a color treatment in the spa cost? Just ball-park-ish, in the three figure range or the four figure range? The stitching seems intact, and there is no hardware to replace.

Hi again I’m not sure I remember the style name .. cabas maybe ?
Hermes would not do full on recolor
There are handbag restoration shops that Will recolor.
I do this sort of work in my shop and such a job is $175-225. Depending upon size.

A good diy project in my opinion. You will probably need some color touch up… but try cleaning and conditioning first … that might make it present much better and you can be happy with those results .

Hi @docride, thank you for sharing your expert advice! Looking for your input on scuffs on the corner of my epsom bolide. It looks like the top “color layer” was scratched off. This is my first epsom bag and also my first damaged H bag! Shocked as I thought epsom would be more hardy.

I’ve read that epsom damage is more difficult to fix, is that true? Do you think the H spa be able to camoflouge these scratches on the corner? And is it true corner damage is easier to fix?

Appreciate your insight.
