Hi there , I don’t know if H will fix or the cost from H . A trusted non H restoration specialist should be able to advise. And address these issues if H does not have a satisfactory solution.I have a B35 Clemence that has gotten water damage. You can see a line where the damage is all around and there was mold on the bottom. I was able to clean off most of the mold but it smells of mold still and no matter how much I clean:condition the water mark will not come off.
My insurance said to send it to H for a quote, is this fixable and does anyone have any ideas what the cost would be?

Hi there ,Dear all, dear docride, I have also posted this in the Ode de peau porc thread before I came across this one and I am not able delete it properly, so please, Mods, delete it there, if you think it is better that way.
A question from my side, I am very much needing to tap into your knowledge for help: I have seen a beautiful porc Kelly, beautiful supple leather, - but there are discolouration: the area where the light reached the leather is much lighter than the closed parts. Apparently it had been stored with closed flap, as the areas covered by flag and sangels are darker than the rest. Any idea, if this difference could fade away with exposure to sunlight? Or is there any other way to remove it/ blend it in? I do not want to re-colour the bag, the colour is what I love about it.
The bag is from 1992 and otherwise in a very beautiful condition and I would get it in a minute if I had a chance to getting it into a more even colour pattern again.
The bag has been to H Spa in 2018 for minor touch ups, according to the bill.
Thank you for your advice!

Hey there , What beautiful bag ! WowHi Doc,
Thank you for doing God's work. I've been having my eyes on this Fuchsia Ostrich but unfortunately it has a big watermark on the back. I'm wondering if this can be fixed (by Hermes or another service) or it's done done. I appreciate it.

Thank you so much! Have a nice day!Hey there , What beautiful bag ! Wow
This is most likely not a water mark as ostrich could be wet and then dry with out a mark. This could be a white wine, clear sweet soda or ?
I’d be wary most shops will paint your whole panel or whole bag to cover a stain.
if the stain was just a day old you’d have better luck in trying to remove it.
I’d ask H about it first. A trusted professional restorer might be able to help. Without knowing what the stain is makes it more tricky to give advice.
I hope this helps ? You are welcome to PM if you would like to chat further.
All the best,doc
PS thank you your lovely comment, regarding “doing Gods work” I feel this is helping each other ( our brothers and sisters) .
Thank you for your advice and opinion, @docride ! I got the bag and will leave it standing open in indirect sunlight, I managed to even out light-induced discolouration like this in an other bag before. Let’s see… I‘ll keep you posted although I guess it will take a few months to see any difference.Hi there ,
What a beautiful and rare bag ! I don’t know if any way to really color match the areas that are lighter to the darker. Conditioning might help a wee bit but I wouldn’t expect the colors to match afterwards.
This bag is very lucky to otherwise be a great shape . It’s kind of cool… maybe folks will this it’s a rare shadow effect peau porc ?
Hugs, doc

The leather is really beautiful and shiny and you don’t notice the difference in colour when it is closed so I decided to go for it.
Hi thereHi Doc. Please advise how to get ride of the tarnish on the zipper head. I used eraser and silver polish cloth to try to get the tarnish out. It did not work. Thanks you so much.

Thank you so much for the advice. Appreciate your knowledge and time.Hi there
I used to run a thread which gave advice to folks wanting to fix their bags themselves however I don’t do that here. In this case im
Making an exception .
Looks like corrosion or rust ? So tarnish remover probably won’t work.
I’d try using watch detailing papers with tiny low micron grit ? Carefully buff the rust or corrosion away and work successively smaller grit to smooth and shine as best as possible.but honestly this is completely up to you and I do not bear responsibility if you muck your bag up…just saying .
All the best doc
Hi There,Hi doc,
I found a vintage Kelly 25 from the 1990s. I would love to get it but not sure if the condition is fine. There seems to be some cracks or folds around the bag. Not sure if sending in to H spa would help.
Would love to hear from you! Thank you! View attachment 5844893View attachment 5844894View attachment 5844895View attachment 5844896
