I bought a b35 for travel as I thought it would be practical but unfortunately it’s ridiculously heavy even empty so that was a no go…

Travel set up is a black b25/k25 with me on the plane as either of these go with pretty much my whole wardrobe and only k20s in hand luggage as I can fit in a few and I’m not worried about them getting squashed. I don’t take much out with me when travelling so small bags are perfect.

For anyone who is curious, a K32 fits in a Rimowa cabin size suitcase with dust bag and room to spare. I padded it with clothes and put scarves and other accessories inside the bag. I packed it this way because I also had a laptop bag to carry.
Really extra bit of knowledge: The Lufthansa business class amenity kits currently come in an eco bag. It is large enough to hold a K32 and I ended up using it as a rain cover for my bag.

I just wanted to say a huge thanks to this thread. All the tips and tricks I read here have prepared me so well for my first time taking my birkin to an overseas trip!!! The black canvas tote works wonder and I have no problem fitting the birkin on its back under seat, and while I’m on the long haul flight (literally waiting to take off now), I have it standing straight up in the tote under the blanket between my legs. It’s Amaaaazing!!!! And I’m so so excited to be able to take the b to see the world with me!!!

Despite having TSA pre check and storing my bag in a hard carryon, I’m anxious to have TSA aggressively handle my B or K with their gloves or worse, scratch my bag. On our flight back from Dallas this wknd, TSA asked me to throw my silk into a bin. Luckily, I had a secondary bag to place it in so it would not get stained.
Good Idea! I would always bring a bag to put my designer bag in. TSA does not have the time to baby our bags, so we should think ahead.

I love all the tips and tricks on this thread! I do sometimes travel with my B (it depends on where I’m going) and I always pack it in its dust bag, then put it in my LV Neverfull GM, which I also put in a dust bag to go through airport security. TSA Pre-Check is often without bind and there is no way I am putting even my Neverfull by itself on the belt. I bought a dust bag from The Container Store so as not to ruin my LV one and I just wash it after every trip. I pack my B with other carryon items, such as a smaller clutch, cords for my electronics (in pouches so as not to scratch my bag), or my jewelry pouch. Admittedly I haven’t been searched in a while, but I have always found TSA (and their counterparts overseas) to be pretty respectful of my belongings when I have been searched. I think my greatest fear is someone stealing my bag if it makes it through the bag scanner before I make it through the people one. I always send DH and DD through first, then watch as my bag goes into the machine before going through the people scanner. They then watch for it to come out on the other end.

Reposting from the halzan thread:

The Halzan 25 is the perfect travel (daily) bag for me. It sits close to the body and very functional with the crossbody wear and the pockets. For my last international trip, I used the 2 front pockets (passport in one pocket, cardholder in the other pocket) and buckled/secured one strap. I put my phone in one of the outside/back pockets and the hotel card in the other pocket for easy access. The main compartment had a pack of tissues, hand sanitizer, lotion, some cash etc.
