Hello Traveling Friends,

I have traveled on planes many times with Birkins but hate passing them through inspection and putting them on the floor in front of me for take-off, so I found some fabric to match each one of my Birkins and each one has her own travel bag. So now, I place her on top of her travel bag while she sits in the gross plastic tray that goes through x-ray, and I don't have to worry about stashing her in front of my seat---she is protected in her travel bag. The bag is the same size as the Hermes Sleeper but much lighter and of course, does not say, "Hermes."

This travel bag is for Ms. Barenia; I love the design with a French goose wearing scarf and all and it looks so pretty on "Biscuit." But I am carrying Rouge H right now and did not want to change out today. So color coordination is kind of off but you get the picture.

Thanks for letting me share.

Great idea
you make those?
I usually use hotel
Recycle laundry bag
Not those plastic type hehe
Coz Dh travel very often

Re the Evelyne as a travel bag - my black Clemence Evelyne has actually been through a galley FLOOD (the first two rows of first class were inches deep in disgusting dirty water) - wouldn't you know the bag was sitting on the floor against the bulkhead when the seams burst?
Long story short, the bag was ENTIRELY soaked through and through to the point where it needed to be blotted like a towel :wtf: and I went through customs with it literally dripping (yes, this was a stressful trip!).
The bag is FINE. Not a mark on it. The strap may show a little bit of wear, but that may also be normal wear. I love Clemence for travel. But beware of the galley :D

That's really super cute! The print is adorable! I just use Envirosax foldable totes because the largest bags I have is size 30/ 32. Each bag has one inside and my bags go inside for security x-rays, rain and iffy locations. The fact that it's water resistant helps and it has also protected the corners from rubs.

Omg, what a horror story![emoji33] Glad your bag survived well.
I haven't traveled with any of my H so far. I would be too worried to leave my bag by my seat if i have to get up for bathroom (seems to much to carry a B or K to a bathroom on a flight), or leave it in my hotel if i should attend a party with a clutch (not bag). What do people do on occasions like these?

[emoji33] I hope you got compensation!

The airline tried to tell me they had a cap of $1600 liability on international flights, but to their credit, they eventually did compensate me for the bag as well as the Ulysse and scarf (Etro not H) that were also damaged. The customer service person was amazing, actually.

FYI - Sombrero does not do as well as Clemence in water!

Gosh, I would never think someone on the plane would steal my bag - it's a captive audience and they'd be found! By me :noggin: ;)I just put my bag up on the seat, ledge, whatever is available, so it's safe from bumping and what I now know is the UNSAFE floor of a plane! That said, I do accept that if I travel with my bag, it's going to get some bumps. I don't fly with fragile bags.
In the hotel - honestly? I have insurance. I'm not going to freak out about my bag - if it gets stolen or something, I get compensation and I get another. I have been traveling all my life, from backpacking in dodgy places to the nicest hotels, and I have never been robbed. I hope that's not a jinx ;) but I do encourage people to be relaxed...and protected!

I will remember that about Sombrero.

Please do be careful, there are now reports of passengers stealing from overheard compartments even in Business/ First and making as quick a getaway as possible on landing. Do check all your things especially passports and money. I keep my bag with me always. Hard to do when travelling alone I know.

QF that is an awful story!! Glad the airline was able to compensate you. Hope you were able to get a new bag!! Is the suede lining also intact? Or did that suffer?

I keep my bag in a dust bag and a dust bag in an Envirosax (or a Muji folding travel bag) throughout the entire journey, so no one knows I'm even traveling with Hermes. Trust no one :ninja:
