I took my Lindy 34 on board too without concealing it in anything and I had a very hard time fitting it under the seat in front of me! The handles just wouldn't fold comfortably. Did you put it in the luggage compartment above the seats?
You may fold the handles, but I usually don't do this. I generally keep the bag half under my seat, and my Lindy 34 is my workhorse when travelling! ;)

The lindy 34 is also my perfect travel bag--I have two that I alternate. They look even better when slouchier through frequent use. I also occasionally travel with my bolide relax, a bag I fall more and more in love with each day--perfect relaxed casual chic and I can actually fold it in my suitcase. I also occasionally travel with my black Togo kelly 28--one of the first h bags I ever bought. But in general I tend to leave the expensive newer items behind since I don't like to worry about my stuff when I travel!

Forgive my ignorance but i never knew you could fold the bolide relax!! Now i want one! That would be such a great travel bag!

I took my Lindy 34 to Japan and it was a great travel bag! However, I will only consider bringing my H bag to safe countries (imo) like Japan, Korea, Hongkong. However, I will definitely not bring it on my Europe trips.

Yes, I travel with H around the world and do not even protect my bags during transit in any special way. However, I always have the bag as a carry on baggage - would bee too afraid my suitcase would get lost. In crowded, touristy places I prefer wearing a Kelly with a shoulder strap. Of course if I go to more rural places I will choose another bag than Hermes, but basically I think there are many practical H bags for traveling, but I think Kellys and Bolides are the best since they can be properly closed and carried with a shoulder strap.

I wonder- what makes you think European countries are not safe for carrying Hermes bags in?:wondering:wondering

I am curious too... I know that it's mostly perception/prejudice, which isn't really rational, but I have to say that I've lived in and traveled around a few different European countries. I ride the subways at night and all. :p

I'm on business now in Paris (then Amsterdam) and carry my B everywhere even on the metro without worry.
I have seen Parisian ladies on the metro, too, this week with Jypsieres, Kellys and a Roulis! The metro has been a hotspot for wildlife sightings! ;)

FYI I got on the plane with my Double Sens, 25cm B and Jige Élan Russian doll style :flowers:

Count me in as another one who has carried my Kelly's in London and Paris, using the Tube and Metro with no problems. I do keep my Kelly fastened (straps under toggle, but no lock) as pick pockets are the biggest threat.

I used to travel with my Kelly 35 until a flight attendant took my Kelly away from me to move to an overhead compartment 2 rows down! I panicked :panic::wtf::nono: and tried to explain that I couldn't be so far from it. Then another lady felt my pain and offered a space on her overhead compartment closer to me, but I was still very uncomfortable the entire flight because I had my Kelly taken away from me that way. That was the last time I travel with Hermes bags, after that I have been using my Chanel chain around because it is large enough to fit my essentials but small enough to fit under the seat so I can enjoy my flight :noworry:
