Not to derail the thread, but in the spirit of guarding expensive bags, watch out for the last seat on Pirates of the Caribbean too. All the water from the cannon balls gets launched in there. Of course I didn't notice before I sat down, soaking my skirt, and then at the cannon ball part, as I got liberally doused, I realized why the seat was soaked in the first place.

There's two biggish dips too on the Pirates ride. I remember as a teenager being in the front row, when my friend told us to duck right as we were heading into it. The water did hit the row behind us! :D And don't forget the Matterhorn!

I usually bring my cheapest messenger bag or Longchamp backpack. It's not very clean with all those visitors, especially in the food areas.

You were so brave!!!

Sorry to go off on a tangent...

I work for the airlines and take my Rouge Casaque Evelyne on personal trips. I bring with me a folded TJ Maxx 99¢ shopping bag tucked inside my E in case of emergency such as rain or aircraft storage. I get scared it might get scratched tucked underneath the seat or in the overhead bin! Silly huh?!

i was at universal singapore a couple of weeks ago and decided to ride the Jurassic park ride. while on the line i saw the ones who were getting out soaked!

good thing they let me out of the line and they sell plastic ponchos (SG$3) at the gift shop. $3 is not bad rather than getting my kelly 28 box wet!

You wore your Kelly box on those rides? Hero :)

I finally broke down and got an evelyn, this in basic black but in epsom rather than clemence because of its resilience to water. I'm not a lover of the look of epsom but now that I'm using it have totally fallen in love with it.

This bag is going to start racking up some frequent flyer miles.

Great travel bag, that Evelyne, and Epsom is under rated IMO.
I have a few Epsom bags I adore.
Epsom is light, takes color well and easy to wipe.
Took my Soufre Evi literally around the world with me this summer.
Not only was it easy to wear, I could cinch the strap to make it under shoulder
Got a million compliments on that bag.
Besides that color - Soufre was uplifting
You will love your black and with a bright pocket square or twilly you can change it up!
Congrats

Wow! I just got my black baggollini today. It is by far the best travel accessory I've found for my 35b. It zips, is very light weight, covers the B completely, not at all bulky, and protects from water, grime, airplane spills. It folds into nothing, has a handy little front zippered compartment for passport, tickets etc. Over the shoulder straps, freeing the hands. And it's only $30. I couldn't have designed a way to carry my Birkins bettering airport, plane or in an unexpected downpour. Thanks to tpf'ers for recommending!

that's great!! it's so nice to have a hands-free option that is under-the-radar. but since when is clemence not waterproof? i spilled water over my clemence evelyne constantly while traveling for a month and there is no evidence of it. (my dog would be sitting on the evelyne, drinking water from my hands and spill it all over :p ) and whenever it rains, my clemence/togo bags are fine if i wipe the water off? i thought it was just the exotics we had to worry about :sweatdrop:

Epsom is a real rough and tumble skin, I've got several constances in epsom and have put them through the mill. I treat my togo and clemence bags a bit more gingerly but they are pretty rugged and water resilient as well although I do wipe them down immediately after getting them wet.

Box leather is an awful one to get wet. I accidentally had one in water and it blistered beyond belief. I was able to save it and flatten out all the blisters by waving a hair dryer over it for a good half hour. It took almost a week for the images of the blisters to go away.

There's a good detailed thread here somewhere on the different water resiliency of the skins.

OMG audreylita, not to go too far off topic but that story terrified me!! So glad you got the marks out. *puts the box Kelly back in its dustbag*

In my experience, Clemence is MUCH better than Epsom with water - seriously. My first epsom Kelly Wallet (purchased at Wall Street) literally soaks up water and SWELLS - it goes down when it dries and is not noticeable but isn't quite the same, either. It's happened 2 or 3 times. My experiences with Clemence and Togo over the years have been the same - stellar. No issues at all!

I've gotten my epsom constance very wet and it's been perfect. My SA actually recommended the evelyn in epsom for water resiliency, one of his male clients bought the same bag and has gotten it soaked in the rain and said the water rolls right off. That sold me.

And also that the epsom evelyn was lighter in weight than the clemence.

Of course I went back the following week and bought the clemence as well.

:p
