Love this! And its definitely waterproof? It doesn't say it is and nylon usually isn't; maybe just water-resistant?
Hi christiemarie340 - I'm not 100% sure, but after years on the beach, rain, saltwater etc., I've never had the baggalinni leak. However, I wouldn't want anyone to have issues based simply on my recommendation. I know water resistant is great, but not the same as waterproof. And I'm not putting Hermes out in a rainstorm in water resistant only. Thanks for pointing this out.

Just purchased a hard case rimowa 21 inch carry on. Traveling tomorrow with the carry on packed with my 35 B stuffed with jige and Kelly cut clutches and a jewelry pouch. All covered in dust cover. I also included an evelyne bag as it had extra room. Seems like a good way to travel as I am tired of having the B go through security and sitting on floor of plane.

Just wanted to report that I bought this and it is intact waterproof and fit my 35B perfectly. It zips up super small and adds almost no weight. Thank you DrTr for the recommendation!!!

This is a great thread. I have a new Victoria and want to travel with her in September. I like the longchamp pliage idea. I also have a baggallini expandable tote I've used on the beach for years - it zips and is waterproof. There is one on zappos right now that is huge, and appears it would fit a 35 birkin with perhaps some room to spare, and at $30 it is some nice protection on the cheap and on the qt - people wouldn't dream there is an Hermes inside. I'm thinking its going to fit my Victoria with some extra room. As others have mentioned, we were traveling once, and the person in front of us dropped an entire coke which exploded and drenched us, under our seats etc. thank goodness we had been to an island and I was carrying an inexpensive kiplinger tote that was zipped. Somehow nothing got ruined. The baggallini specs are below in case anyone is interested. They come in several colors

Hi christymarie - I'm so glad it worked for you! I asked my shoe shop person about the waterproof of nylon, and she said technically it is considered water resistant, but that these new baggalinnis are supposed to be even better than before. But unless we are standing out in a downpour I suspect it will take care of all other protection needs. I cant even imagine sending hermes through on the security conveyer belt in the airport or putting under my seat unprotected -ick. I bought a new one too! I love how small and light it closes up when not being used and how it completely encloses the bag. Wear her to exotic places!

We are on our way home from Disney, and I thought of my TPF friends - and this specific thread - as the other day I was directed to the FRONT ROW on Splash Mountain with my etoupe 30B (not to mention the MOP VCA pendant). I always do travel with a B, usually this is my go-to travel bag (versatile for day or night, carries the family essentials, and easy to open, by the way, for bag searches). Thank goodness I had my little hooded cardigan with me to wrap around the bag, which sat on my feet for the whole time - it was the driest thing to come off the ride, probably ever.

You are a brave woman trekking your B to Disney! I am so glad that your B was ok on this ride!! I have gotten soaked on it!! This is exactly why I started the thread "BEST H Bag For Your Most Casual Days...." I never seem to feel comfortable taking my B's and K's to amusement parks or city parks. Glad it all worked out for you!:smile1:

Not to derail the thread, but in the spirit of guarding expensive bags, watch out for the last seat on Pirates of the Caribbean too. All the water from the cannon balls gets launched in there. Of course I didn't notice before I sat down, soaking my skirt, and then at the cannon ball part, as I got liberally doused, I realized why the seat was soaked in the first place.

Some things I just can't give up! I did go scarfless, but it was prohibitively humid. However, after rereading through here, I ought to pick up an HC or Longchamp, though it would have to fold up incredibly small if I'm traveling en famile.

Good to know! We were up front for that, too. Second row for Thunder Mountain. September is perfect if you have to go. Just show up when the park opens, and by noon we're good to go. It does rain late afternoon, but that's after lunch and a quick swim, and then it just becomes time to relax in the room before dinner, or DH and I take turns working out.

What could have been worse was the Rockin' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios! That ride does three loops! I had no idea.

Just saw this and placed my order immediately. Thank you for sharing the tips!!!! I usually put a target shopping bag (yes the plastic one from target store!!) inside my H, because it would be big enough to cover the whole bag just in case of rain or something, and it wouldn't add any weight....BUT, it does look ridiculous when I put my H in....LOL

You ordered the black one, right? I was looking and it disappeared! 😉

Haha, I carry a target bag in my H bags as well, just in case of the unexpected downpour.
I have the rain bags, but it usually works out that I grab a target bag at the last minute. I do the same thing with shoes - I would rather run to my car barefoot than ruin a great pair of shoes! Fortunately, this has not happened, yet...

I'm trying to pare down my packing when traveling. I've found that I can usually get by with two bags:

The Bolide is my h bag of choice when traveling: love the shoulder strap, holds a ton, very secure, easy to get in and out, and works from casual to semi dressy. For evenings, I always pack a Nancy Gonzalez clutch.

Shoes are a different story, I have trouble even doing a weekend getaway without 5 pairs...:p
