What is Luggage Forward or a luggage service? How is it different than regular Insured UPS or FeDEX? I may be moving in the future and have some bags to bring. I have 2-Day or Overnighted insured bags to consignors - how is the luggage service different? Thank you for tolerating going off a little on a tangent in this thread.

Luggage Forward is a door to door shipping service for your luggage, excess baggage etc so that you don't have to check your bags when you travel. Both UPS and FedEx also offer their versions of the same service. Shipping options are no different from when you mail a package, overnight, 2day air, ground etc. Check out the websites.

I cant help you there - but I had to laugh...:D:D:D Do let us know when you resolve it as I am sure at some point we shall all need to know...

I have an extended insurance policy and as far as I know that policy will cover them in the moving truck. But I will check it out and if that's not the case, then they will get shipped one by one via Fed X.

And that will be a lot of boxes. Oy!

You just brought up one of my biggest concerns. I'm going to be moving at some point and have a fairly large collection. Do I ship them via Fed X one by one? Let the moving company move them? It's my only real concern with moving. Forget the china and crystal and computers and the jewelry, what about the handbags???

:confused1:

I moved across the country last year. There were 6 of us, our dog, my H and my jewelry. We bought a dead head leg on a private plane. It was less expensive than first class plane tickets amd much easier on the pup.

I've used the Goyard St. Louis GM just like ms piggy. Works great even for a B35. Sometimes a large BV Cabat works for the same purpose, but man is that ever heavy!!!

ms piggy, I don't know much about Goyard--Will you share the name of this bag bag, and/or its size? Thank you so much!

As WingNut mentioned, it is the Goyard St Louis in the GM size. The St Louis comes in a multitude of colours and two sizes (PM and GM). It is super light weight, goes over the shoulder and so easy to pack (it flattens to nothing)!

Ms piggy, is that a 35B? And, I'm not familiar with the outer protective bag you're using either. Can you tell us about it, please:-)

That is a HAC 32. See above reply re the outer bag i.e. Goyard.

Love this! Thanks for posting! Is the Kelly a size 28?

The Kelly is a 32 rotourne.
