Thank you! I am traveling again soon with a group of friends who are a little loosey goosey and we will be taking the train around Italy. I mentioned luggage safety and got poo pooed so I will look into something like this. It’s a portable safety box originally intended for transporting guns which I bring with me and use to keep my passport, money, extra atm, credit cards, and jewelry, etc which have an attached steel cable so you can attach it to something. I have used it at places that don’t have safes including the beach and have attach it to my sunlounger to keep things when I go in the water or have attached it inside my car rental, or have attached it to a seat on a plane or something on a train/boat. I have personally been pickpocketed and have had money stolen from me during travel, so I like these boxes to help secure my passport, money, credit cards, and jewelry not in use.
As long as you keep your belongings close to you, I think you’ll be fine! But definitely I wouldn’t recommend bringing smth too flashy/obvious, just to avoid being targeted… sadly I hasn’t been able to rock my B in Milan out and about yet as security is the issue in some instances, I prefer to wear smth not obvious and well known to the masses like Valextra when I’m out and about the city… same with Rome, brought my Celine Belt bag there, very hard to get inside bag😅 I’m yet to travel with my B on the train, perhaps I’d feel secure going to Switzerland by train with it, but definitely not around Italy 🙈Thank you! I was in Spain, Italy, France this summer for three months and found my Kelly to be a perfect travel bag. Too hard to get in and out of for a pickpocket. As long as you keep your belongings close to you, I think you’ll be fine! I often travel with a K32 and totally agree.I was in Spain, Italy, France this summer for three months and found my Kelly to be a perfect travel bag. Too hard to get in and out of for a pickpocket.
Yeah Kelly might be better security-wise compared to Birkin, I have only B for now 😅 I also wish to have smth more under the radar like Bolide, which I think would be great for travelI was in Spain, Italy, France this summer for three months and found my Kelly to be a perfect travel bag. Yes Bolide is perfect.Yeah Kelly might be better security-wise compared to Birkin, I have only B for now 😅 I also wish to have smth more under the radar like Bolide, which I think would be great for travel
I'm already having palpitations at the prospect of transporting all my bags, including my H ones for my impending move to Dubai.
Currently, I'm thinking that the boxes will go into the check-in bags, and filled with clothes, with most of my other bags (taking a calculated risk that a direct flight from London to Dubai should be relatively safe) and the Kelly 28, Mini Lindy and Mini Evelyne will be in their dust bags and bag pillows in my carry-on luggage, but I'm not quite sure about the permutation of which ones will go into the rolling cabin bag, and which ones will go into probably the Le Pliage travel bag as my "personal bag"...
My hairline is holding on by a thread with all this stress...
That's good, I'm due to go next week and have always taken my Birkin previously but with all the stories about how bad the crime levels are I'm a little more concerned than normal.Just returned from a trip to Paris & had my Kelly.. no concerns whatsoever. I felt safe & secure
wherever we went & was very much aware of my surroundings because we were in familiar territory
For me it was no different this year than last. I traveled the last time I was in Paris (Spring) with myThat's good, I'm due to go next week and have always taken my Birkin previously but with all the stories about how bad the crime levels are I'm a little more concerned than normal.
Obviously I'm careful but I'd love to know from anyone who goes more often or better still who lives there, is it really any worse than last year for instance?
I don't tend to be in the more obvious tourist spots, am especially careful around Gare Du Nord etc. But I've always felt relatively ok wandering around Saint Germain with my B in the past.
