Yes.I do my best to keep my bags pristine. It bothers me to no end when I see a smudge on the pipings of my bags which is vachetta leather. When that happens, I pull out a soft pencil eraser and rub gently. It comes off clean but it also takes the joy of carrying the bag. I know that dirt, scuffs, etc. are bound to happen but until then, I do what I can to keep my bags pristine. Sometimes, I need to chill a little bit --it's only a bag!

I try to be careful with them, but things will always happen. Like today ... took my new BBag to the movies and when I came home I noticed a little scuff mark near the bottom edge. :crybaby: I was annoyed, but then told myself ... it's a purse and while using it, it will develop some small blemishes over time. It's kind of like a car and getting that first scratch in the paint! The first one is always the worst! I still try to be extra careful though.

I am careful with my bags but I find the more careful I am, the more something bad happens. It's true the first blemish is the hardest but at least, I'm able to relax and really enjoy my bag after it's been broken in.

Yes, I baby my bags. I chose three or four bags to rotate and carry, and leave the rest in their dust bags or original boxes. The three or four bags I am carrying, I care about them so much when they were new. Once a couple marks were put on them, I am much more relaxed. But I never put them on floor. However, it is a challenge that when I am at a restaurant. I don't want to hang it on back of my chair, I don't want to put it on the floor, I basically has to let it sit on my knee. When the bag I carried that day was big, it became a challenge.

Well, I wouldn't call it obsessive - just careful.
I change my bag (sometimes daily) depending on what I am doing for the day. If I'm going to the hair salon or if the weather is iffy - I take a bag that I'm not fussy about (can you imagine hair dye or whatever landing on your gorgeous, pricey bag?) I always check the area where I will place the bag and I try not to place it on the floor, but there are times when you really don't have an option and for the most part, I have already thought this out before heading out the door (yes, I think too much but hey - it's proven to be quite helpful!).
I do spray my bags upon receipt and check them out thoroughly before I stuff n' tuck them away in their special bags when not in use. I have read somewhere that people have "emergency" plastic bags on hand in case of inclement weather for their babies, which is something to consider. I suppose the fact that I have not done this yet is an indication that I am not that obsessive. I'm an organized and clean person in general, so I would say that I treat my bags likewise.
I do think about what I am wearing knowing that dark denim can rub off on lighter bags......hmmm....just common sense......hmmmm.....or am I on the road to obsession?

I want my bag to look good but I cannot baby them...

But I certainly know what you mean...especially when you just purchased it and are wary of it....but them I get over it in a couple of weeks....

Generally, I dont want them looking dirty..but worn looking is a good thing....thats why I dont do light colored bags...for me, it can look dirty rather quickly and I hate to worry about it...all my bags are dark or brightly colored....it keeps me sane...lol....

How funny, I took out my white woven leather prada for the first time today and....I did obsess., took baby wipes in the car as to not hold her with dirty hands, etc., etc., I agree, life is to short for these silly obsessions.....but, I still do once in a while...will try not to from now on.......:heart:H

I have always taken very good care of my bags, but obsessed is a little too strong of a word for me, I guess. I don't throw them around, put them on the floor of the car or carry them in the rain. I have been pretty lucky, no disasters. The only problem bag I own is my Mulberry Annie which seemed to develop a new stain or blemish every day. I could never figure out where I got the stains. I became very frustrated and put her in her dustbag and put her away before she totally self-destructed. I miss carrying her, but I couldn't take the stress. :cursing:

I'm extremely careful with some bags......the more expensive LEs, that are more delicate, just need more care....I also have a set of bags that are daily "wear and tear" bags....careful with them too, but not as much.....

I used to obsess, but got over it. Life is too short, like queen said. I want to enjoy my bags. I don't throw them in mud or anything....I'm careful, but once they get a mark, what can you do?! That's just life! I just use them and get over it.

I baby my bags a lot: spray them before the first use, check them regulary if there are blemishes etc. I condition them from time to time especially the Balenciagas and I would just wear 2 of my bags in ****ty weather and they can stand it. Luckily all my bags still do look brand new even after 2 years and I never had anything bad happen to them.
