Do You Labubu?

Guilty as charged! I had three in February, delivered from the UK to Dubai, bought another two in Singapore, ordered another two last week to be delivered to the familial residence in Singapore for future unboxing, and then queued up for another two for myself and one as a gift for a friend in Dubai yesterday…

The two Dubai additions from yesterday!

I am unapologetically leaning into the cute-core moment. I already have a few other plush bag charms (Mofusand for e.g.) before I succumbed to the Labubu craze. Though I am never willing to pay over retail for them!

Also, I do feel that I am rather fond of anything that harks back to my childhood, and I was always in love with plushies as a kid. Carrying these little charms with my luxury bags is a fun little juxtaposition to remind me to not take life too seriously sometimes.

I think that as long as one is not buying them as any sort of investment, thinking that they will hold their value with time, I think it is a fun indulgence, akin to the lipstick effect.
I agree! As long as they are not seen as investments and taken too seriously, why not have a little fun? I carry mine on my Birkins and some LV because I like the scale of it. I know this is a trend, but like my sweet mama, I appreciate a "happening" and love being a part of this one. (I collected plushies, in my day we called them "stuffed animals", as a kid. Snoopy was my favorite.)

Alright, I hope that nothing exciting comes out because I think I have plenty lol.

It’s interesting as a girl who was never into dolls when I was a child, this is probably the closest I’ll get to it lol.

I was also able to score a few limited edition ones but they’re for other people.
What a cute line-up! I love their clothes!!

Just for fun, some Labubu in action  .

While Labubu "Luck" tried to claim my bag, Labubu "Wings of Fortune" gave her the side eye and said that wasn't going to happen.
Meanwhile Labubu "Zizi" couldn't care less and took a nap under the cherries 🍒.
After a few hours, when everyone was gone, "Luck" returned to claim and inspect the LV bag again. She took the opportunity to also claim a Chanel make-up palette she likes 😏. What can I say, these Labubu's know their taste :graucho:.
I love your story! What a fun idea! When I get my other two clothed, I'll try to come up with a Labubu Adventure, too!

MC-Sea was salty and going a bit coconut (while posturing in an indecent fashion) at the thought of venturing into extreme elements again after yesterday’s outing.

WoFy the Strong cut the histrionics by showing the youngling how it’s done in the big bad city during a dangerous heat wave.

MC-Sea responded by reminding WoFy to pack an umbrella.

Beskar the Best came on the scene only to confirm that her treats, cold water, wipes, and extra toy were in the bag.

Beskar wants a labubu, too! You are a master story creator! I always enjoy your creativity and appreciate the time you take to bring joy to all of us!

Agree whole heartedly with this! It’s perfectly fine to dislike or even hate these little accessories. However, what baffles me is when people start ascribing a lack of taste, maturity or sense to people who like them. It’s weird to me - let’s all live and let live. Enjoy the silly in this chaotic world.
And I’m sure my Mist Skullpanda agrees with me 😉

I was initially lukewarm on Labubus. I am 62 years old and very conscious of what I wear. Yet I have 5 Labubus. If people are disgusted that I am rocking a Labubu on my bag, oh well, that’s their problem, not mine. To “judge” other people’s style as ridiculous, embarrassing, hideous, et al,….says more about the commentator than my style.
I couldn't agree with you more! Beautiful Birkin, by the way! Green Grape Labubu looks fantastic on her!

My sister and I were obsessed with Snoopy as kids. One Christmas we got matching stuffed ones and a few of the outfits as well. The Charles M. Schultz museum is here so I had to get a replacement Snoopy a few years ago.

Lori,
I would have loved to have had The Charles M. Schultz museum in my hometown! I would definitely be a regular there. Snoopy was my first stuffed animal at the age of 4. I didn’t know he already had a name, so I named him Sue. I still have my raggedy original but have bought a few others , including Woodstock, over the years.

I also loved Snoopy as a kid. Race for your life Charlie Brown was one of my favourite films. We didn't get much Snoopy on TV here in the UK so usually had to wait until Christmas.

I also loved Garfield and Cabbage Patch Kids but was never allowed them as my mum thought they were "ugly". Funny that people seem to hate on these 'less attractive' toys but expect younger generations to not be obsessed with looks. Maybe that's why I like Labubu now, I am (plenty) old enough to make my own choices. It's made me very aware to not tell my kids that any toys are ugly. On that note, here is my beautiful Sea Salt Coconut Labubu

I love everything about this post! Jelly-baby, you are so right about the concept of beauty: no judgment zone. The Simpsons addressed this, too, in their Lisa the Lionheart episode. (a.k.a. Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy)I think that is where Lisa addresses the Barbie issue of standard beauty. It's ok not to like everything but to be rude about it is my definition of "ugly."
Your little Coconut Sea Salt is precious on your tote! I think everything about her is beautiful.

Yes! I do do Labubu!
I turned 60 this year and with all of the sadness going on in the world, I needed a fun escape. What better way than to adopt these cute monsters and have fun with the clothes!!!

Here are two of my four Labubus.
Loyalty from BIE and Sesame Bean from Macarons ( Blind boxes) I will post the other two when their clothes arrive.

I adore the Kimono and the Constance — too cute — and will need to look for one.
