Oh any my boyfriend is very well trained haha. I used to not care about handling my bags, it is just a bag to him after all. But when he saw the unhappiness the rough handling caused he definitely changed.

Now when he hands me my bag, he carries it with the chain and supports the bottom with an open palm! Too funny! :roflmfao:

Not anymore than if they touched my scarf or anything else that they should or should not be touching. A bag is like anything else; personal space.

Anyone who doesn't get that just has bad manners. Nothing else further needs to be said

And, for all those loved ones, including BFs that 'man'handle them improperly...this may be an unpopular thing to say on this thread...I know that they don't get our love for bags and stuff, but really, it's just a bag (although an expensive one).

I will always remember someone saying this to me once, "honey, when you're sick, there ain't one diamond in the world no matter how big that's going to bring you chicken soup or hold you when you're in pain".

Last week I was having a goodbye dinner for one of my friends who is moving to France and I placed my new patent wallet on the table. One of my male friends (He doesnt really pay much attention to brands such as Chanel and couldn't care less what it was) picked up my wallet and was admiring it when he suddenly sneezed. ALL OVER my wallet. It was soooo hard to keep my horified expression inside after that. Lets just say I wiped that wallet down quite thoroughly.

he's a keeper!!

I have this thing about personal space. It doesn't matter if it's my $2 shopping bag with my groceries in it or my Chanel, do not go near it. That personal space becomes smaller around close family and friends but they know their limits. The only person which i barely know which i have been comfortable with handling my Chanel was an LV SA, he put on his gloves and cradled it to admire it (with permission of coarse).

Abit OT, it's like when people tried to touch my belly when I was pregnant, don't go there.

I am so like All Smiles! When I go to places I always try and sit with my bag in my lap. Also hated it when people tried touching my belly...

I was just wanting to know what you ladies feel when random people (or even friends and family) grab your purse to see it/ touch it. I witnessed this the other day at the mall when some lady was stopped by a girl and was asked about her purse, the girl grabbed it with her hands and even I somewhat freaked out by that. Has that ever happened to you? How do you deal, do you kindly pull it away, do you say something?

well, there's a girl .. and she is my sister's friend's girlfriend..
i dont wanna be rude.. but, the fact is.. this girl always dating rich guys..

WOW that is pretty rude. I would never do something like that. I would also hate for someone to do that to me. I have never witnessed someone behave in that manner, but I know people of that nature do exist. I have touched other peoples belongings like my sisters purses when I ask them if I can try it on or what have you, but the only time I have touched any stranger's belongings are when they forget it some where and I run after them to return it.

This is such a hilarious thread but hits really close to home because my DH of 10 years accidentally scratched my burgundy clutch with chain yesterday with his fingernail. I had just lovingly conditioned it (I know, you guys are going to freak when I say that - I use Cadillac product) along with my black jumbo flap downstairs while catching up on some TV shows. After I was finished, I put them on our stairs because I didn't have time to run up and put them away at the moment. An hour later I go upstairs but did not pick them up because I was carrying two glasses of water in my hands. I turn around to see my DH carrying both my bags and a bunch of other stuff because he was "helping" me. He hands them over to me and I secretly run into our closet to examine them under the light. He knows how much I take care of these bags and tries to be gentle as well but he is a 6 foot man after all with big hands. Sure enough, there is a rather big scratch on the burgundy one front flap. My heart is beating and I'm trying not to freak out as I use my finger to rub it out and luckily it goes away. Whew! Funny thing is, he still doesn't know that he scratched my bag. I don't think I'm going to say anything to him because I still want him to believe I am a normal and balanced person who is not obsessed with her materialistic possessions. Ha!

:roflmfao: Thats funny. I revealed my crazy long ago ha ha just kidding. I feel bad because I have been swatting away anything that comes near my purse!!!

I have to admit it makes me upset when people don't ask before touching things, yes... I'm very respective of personal space so it bugs me when people just go over and touch things without asking, moreso if I don't know them/know them well! (if they're gentle, not so bad, but if they man-handle it? GET OUT!)

I don't have a Chanel (yet), but when I drive I normally put my bag on the seat beside me or console so it doesn't go on the floor... My dad took my LV speedy (my most expensive and fragile bag at the time) from the console and put it on the floor without asking...in the middle of winter... AKA salt and snow and yuckiness from the weather... I almost screamed, but in the end just kept it in my head...
