Do you feel guilty about money spent on designer bags?

I usually feel a little guilty. Although I work and earn my own money, and usually buy my bags on sale, I have kids. Very expensive kids. Whenever I buy a bag, in the back of my mind I'm thinking about how if I saved that money we wouldn't need to stretch so much every time a tuition bill is due. Or I think how that money would pay for one more dance camp, hockey camp, etc. -- even though they already go to a couple each summer. I think once they're financially independent (assuming that ever happens), I'll be able to buy without guilt.

If you do not think that you are worth it, no one else will. Just tell yourself what I do, I work very hard in everything I do, and I deserve one (or 10) little things for myself. Also other than my bags and wallets and some make up I try to cut back in other areas so that I do not feel bad. Congrats on stopping smoking you will have longer to enjoy your bags to!!!

No. When I first ventured into this world I did have my issues. However, I don't anymore. I really did some soul searching about how I spend my money and what I want to spend it on. When I take the plunge and buy an expensive bag I make sure that I love it and I that I will use it. That it what's important to me and justifies my choices. I have a couple designer bags that I have come realize I really don't like or they don't fit my life style so I am currently looking into consignment shops to sell them to. Keeping them to me is waste. No matter what, someone is always going to have an issue with us buying our "expensive, waste of good money" bags. That is their problem! I'm am so over defending my choices.

I only pay cash for the bags I buy - no racking up credit card debt, no interest fees. I save until I have the money, and then I buy. My husband accepts that it's my "thing" and I always let him know what I'm planning on buying. Sometimes I feel a little guilty when I realize how many other things I could be spending the money on, but then I remember what it feels like to transfer my things into a brand, spanking new purse and hit the town. I love it.

Yes... I've spent about $6K+ in bags over these years... not much compared to many of you I'm sure! But a lot for me and my DH. Good thing he's is lovely. We're poor students and I'm going to put myself on a ban once I get a black leather bag and that's totally it! I swear!
