Do you feel guilty about money spent on designer bags?

I used to shop excessively like a bandit. I would only buy Chanel, and the more expensive the bag, the more I had to have it. Ugh. Shopping was like a drug... you can become addicted. As i grew up, I kind of outgrew that mold, and now I feel guilty when I think about all the bags I have that I hardly ever wore and all the money Ive wasted. Dont get me wrong, I still purchase 3 or 4 bags a year, but seriously, I like alot of the bags that I see, I only buy when Im in love <3. Now, I dont feel as guilty anymore as long as Im not wasting moeny, time and Chanel.

i guess coz my parents never spent alot of money, i feel really guilty when i spend so much on purses, but then again i don't buy expesive clothes, shoes or go to spa, get facials or jewerly. ah but watches r a different story.

I always feel guilty about the amount of money i spend on handbags, which is why i only buy classic bags that will last me for years lol...i'm very excited about the HauteLook.com Decades Two sale on Friday (July 25)...the last decades sale featured two of my fav designers, marc jacobs & chanel...so check it out, the prices will be great, so you won't feel AS guilty for splurging on these amazing bags!

Yes, I am just that way. I feel like I should be savig more for a rainy day in this economy. Who knows what will happer?

I know how you feel. But something wrong can happen even if economy be ok. I have serious illness (lupus) and feel like I sit on bomb that can explode anytime. And yes - sometimes I feel guilty about my purchases but I would like to cherish every moment. After I make a decision and buy bag - I just want to be happy that I did this. Still - I work hard and earn my own money.

The thing is I bought my first designer bag 4 years ago ( a LV ) and since then a few more gorgeous bags but I always feel guilty about the amount spent on them ,I even reason with myself that, since I gave up smoking 7 years ago it's only the money that I would have puffed away... and it's just invested in handbags now which has to be healthier.....am I alone in feeling guilty?

I don't know how much cigarettes cost nowadays, but you must have smoked a lot if you can buy purses with the money you saved :graucho: Or are you also taking into account 7 years of interests?

Jokes aside, I don't feel guilty because I buy what I can afford. I know when to stop (even if sometimes it's hard, expecially during sales season).

I recently decided not to buy a gorgeous bag (even if the price was great) because I just bought a better one a week earlier. Considerable self-restrain, even if I regret (a bit) not having bought it, possibly more than I would feel guilty for having bought it. Anyway, the guilty complex has never been my thing.
