Do you ever think we will tap on premier instead of contemporary?

SO true. I saw a bunch of Factory bags yesterday, actually i don't recall seeing so many once lol.

I don't see the factory stores going anywhere, as you said it's their cash cow. They pull her they might not make it.

Coach needs to concentrate on itself, frankly their are more than enough 'premier' brands anyways, why do they need to become one? not everyone wants or will spend thousands on a bag, it's not as if that area is lacking in the ability to do so.

What is lacking is nicely made reasonable priced bags, that is what we need more of.

We work hard for money i want good value when i spend it, the name is secondary to me, you can be the best name going but you make junk? you can go leap off a very tall bridge as far as i am concerned.
Love it.! Well said HS. i dont like Coach's new price points or if that their attempt to become premium

I'm off looking at other brands right now, brands that I never knew about but that have great quality. I've just ordered 2 Linea Pelle bags, the leathers look amazing and they use real brass for their fittings. Plus the prices are reasonable.
These can be found on the 2nd hand market for great prices if you search enough.

I'm done paying the big $$$$$ for handbags. Give me something reasonably priced with great quality leather and I'm happy!::happydance:

I do think Coaches newer 1941 bags are quite beautiful but somehow (for me anyway) not worth paying those prices for.

+1. I overheard a couple's conversation at Macy's, and the husband said, "Don't waste your money on these Coach bags. You can get one for $100 at the outlet."
The average consumer doesn't know the difference between FP and MFF bags. When I carried my new FP Hologram tote to work my boss fawned over it and said she was going to go to the outlet to buy it. I know that the outlets are Coach's "bread and butter" when it comes to making money, but it also keeps them from becoming more of a luxury brand.

I have gotten comments like that too. I only own one MFF bag, and it is the most current wildflower print tote for Spring. All of my many others are from FP, so when people go "Oh, I want to go to the Coach outlet to get one of those!" I cringe. I just wish their MFF styles were distinctively different from the FP, not identical or remakes of once top selling FP bags.

Linea Pelle bags are like butter!!!! I have seen them in boutiques before and was heavily considering buying one of their Dylan bags a while back. They are really nice quality leather bags.

Thanks, I'm hoping that the 2 styles I purchased (both very different) will be keepers for me.
One is in a purple color that looks absolutely beautiful and the other is a deep caramel color.
Their leathers do look exceptional, from what I've read they are a "washed" leather and very thick and 'chewy'.
I've grown tired of the cheaper, thinner leathers that I've been seeing and quite frankly, after seeing enough of them one can get used to that inferior quality.

There's so much more out there to choose from.

These are sounding really nice, off to google. :p

Exactly, Coach has 'trained' their customers toward the sale prices. I worked for Nordstrom for many years and they had 2 main sales per year. Their customers knew when they were held and either waited for them or purchased full price for the rest of the year.

In retail, if a company wants to consistently mark down their goods then they have to deal with the fallout of that practice. Most will wait for the 'sale' price in order to save money. Who can blame them? Who doesn't want to save money?

It's gone on for too long now for Coach to make a major change....it won't happen.

The 1941 collection launch was their chance to make that change, imo. Many of us very enthusiastically bought FP 1941 goods on the premise that they would be excluded from the PCE. Although I'm glad they weren't, it definitely affirmed the fact I will never purchase FP Coach again. It's frustrating when you were told that something is premier and will never go on sale only to find a few weeks later they are 30% off. Luckily for some of us who purchased in the store we could get PA but others who bought online had to return/re-buy (if they didn't use it). Just an unnecessary irritation for no reason.

Hi Alansgail, Thanks for the info, I'd like to check the Linea Pelle brand out. I am sick of paying high $$$ and dealing with heavy and impractical bags that I end up not carrying. All I need is some soft leather, light weight and in some cool colors. While back from my friend Iamminda taught me not to pay full price for coach. I was very tempted with the yellow ostrich rogue but firmly decided not to use my PCE as I know it is a heavy one.

Thanks, can't vouch so much for the 'lightweight' leather as it's a very heavy and 'chewy' leather.
For me it doesn't much matter because I never have to carry much with me on a daily basis so I don't end up stuffing my bags anyway.

I'll know this week but I love the look of these beautiful bags and the quality seems spot on!

MFF was a gateway drug for me, and probably for many others that find the red pill and move on to FP. There's a large number of people that stick with MFF, though, and never discover deletes, or don't want to pay (for whatever reason) $350 for a bag that was originally $700. I think the proliferation of cheaper (looks and cost) MFF bags, especially the ones that are knock-offs of FP, are what some can point to as holding back Coach's future higher end success.

I wouldn't mind if they made a few simple MFF bags like Coras, Margots, older style Bennetts (ca early 2015, with the nicer handles and chaps, before the redesign with extraneous turnlocks on the ends), etc. As long as the bags are made of the nicer materials they've been using lately on MFF, like pebbled, suede, and glove tanned leathers, and drastically reduce the crossgrain and coated canvas, that is. I like a lot of current MFF slg styles better than FP, and I doubt that I'm alone. Heck, my pebbled leather and suede MFF Minetta is one of my favorite bags (but it is a MFF knock-off, as the Minetta used to be FP). MFF doesn't have to be junk.

Celine, Gucci, Valentino, and YSL have outlets and are sold at TJ Maxx (at least on the website; I've never been in a runway store, so I have no idea if they're sold in b&m TJM stores). Yet, people don't seem to care as much about them doing it as they do about Coach, for reasons unknown to me. I think it'll be interesting to see how their restructuring ideas play out.
The difference is premier gucci, ysl, burberry may have outlets, but they're far and few between compared to their retail stores. Coach has an outlet store in literally almost every outlet, they have almost twice as many outlet stores as they do retail stores at this point.

This is a great point and it's quite clear who their market is and it's not the 'premier' customer!

Well, maybe. Except they pulled the EXACT same thing when they introduced the Phoebe and the Borough bags. "No PCE, EVER!" they said.

Not only could you eventually use PCEs, but FOS and then outlet MFFs. Same song, second verse.
