I just wore my YSL out in the rain! It is pouring here in NY and I didn't have time to switch bags and quite frankly it pisses me off (pardon the pun) to even have to consider switching bags due to rain. All is well! Bags should endure even more than shoes. They are meant to be worn and used to carry our necessities. Being pretty is icing on the cake!

LOL -- I don't wear my leather shoes in the pouring rain, either! I think I must be OCD.

I have GoreTex-treated Timberlands that are my rain shoes.

I just bought a 500$ marc jacobs bag and wore it in the rain today...eek! I read the label that comes with the bag saying not to get it wet but i chose to ignore it, i was just so excited to get to wear my bag for the first time! It wasn't ruined at all but i definitely won't make that a habit

hey DawnQB, didn't have a lot of comments about the rain topic,
but that is a gorgeous bag!
Congtats on finding a beautiful bag, that you love!

The shape is pretty and a little demure :) and the color is beautiful. Soft hue, but stylish, and different.
It looks really cute, and the leather looks really nice.

I've never treated any of my bags (lame haha) but it rarely rains where I live.
Then I take a coated canvas in major rain.

However, I used to treat my leather shoes and suede boots etc. all the time - and it worked GREAT. Shoes get so much more beat up than bags in my life. Heck, you can get your shoes wet just by being in public, or doing dishes or whatever.
Whenever I sprayed a leather water repellant on them, it worked great.

Take care.

Enough of the rain and snow already..I'm with you on having to consider switching bags due to weather... Thats why I'm just going to go with the flow and use my bag...If it gets wet, I have learned some tips on what Not to do!:p

Thank's for sharing :) I'm happy nothing happened to your new bag.

Thank you!!:smile1: You are too sweet...Your comments have insured me that I did purchase the Right Leather bag for me;) I do love everything about this bag, from the shape, size, to the color... I think thats why I'm more concerned with taking care of this one..With other bags, I didn't care, as much.:p Thats because I knew they were canvas, and just worry-free!
I bought this bag with the intentions of Not buying anymore bags for awhile! I still have my large nylon tote, and a couple of smaller bags, 1 siggy and 1 suede(I never carry the suede)..I keep that 1 around due to it being my 1st Coach bag..All of my bags are Coach and I find that they are made to last!!! So again ,Thank You so much for your kind comments~You made my day!!! I may pick up some spray repellant too :) Until then, I'm carrying her no matter what the weather decides to do.:graucho:

Well, I new it was a mtter of time before I would get caught in some kind wet weather..New England weather is Crazy.:p At first there were water spots, then they dried up..So I hope that is a good sign!!I was horrified when I seen them, but as they disappeared, I was ok,lol....I plan on getting a spray to coat the leather from further issues.

Except for my Chanel flap, I don't worry about rain too much. If the bag gets wet, I just dry it off with a towel and let it air dry. Maybe I'm lucky, but I've never had any problems! :shrugs:

Through the years, I've worn coach leather bags in the rain and have been fine. I live in one of the top 10 rainiest cities in the States so I'm always thinking about my bags. I recently received a huge golf umbrella from my bf and it helps tremendously to keep both my bag and I dry!

I do, but I'm very picky about which ones, definitely not the bags where I'd feel like a red hot poker was struck through my heart if the rain drenched them lol! same with shoes - I have rainy day shoes. I do keep an umbrella in the boot, and a lightweight reusable bag in the bag I'm carrying (folds up into a very small ball and fits in my cosmetic case) just in case the weather hits unexpected and I can fit whatever bag I'm carrying inside which usually does the job until I get to the car/inside etc.

today is looming with rain here so I am carrying one of my 'acceptable wet weather riskers' - my leather Oroton Lido hobo - I love but can also live with if a sideways storm hits and it gets wet.

I don't take out my very favorites or suede which is hard because we've had a lot of rain in the last few years!.
