Do you carry your bag on the left or right side?

Which side do you prefer most?

  • Left

  • Right

  • Either side don't matter. I'm comfortable and switch between both.

  • It depends on where I wear it, like my arm, shoulder, hand, etc. Combo of both.

As a massage therapist, you should try rotating shoulders. I've had clients whose one shoulder is lower from the weight of thier handbags.

Is that from the weight or just how your muscles tense to keep it on your shoulder?

I alternate between crossbodies and messengers on my left shoulder and totes and hobos on my right so hopefully it balances out! I do feel like the weight sits differently based on how long the strap is. The crossbodies always seem to end up hurting the shoulder more...

I prefer wearing them on my right shoulder. I'm right handed.

I do switch if that one gets tired, but I really don't like it on the other side. It just doesn't seem as comfortable! I never let it stay on that side for long.

I used to always carry my purse on the right side but attended a Women In Business event a few years back where the speaker mentioned that it's best to carry your purse on the left so your right hand is free for shaking hands while networking. So I made the switch :)

Right handed, my bag usually positions on my left side: ie. when carrying crossbody the strap stays on right shoulder; when carrying tote the straps on left shoulder; when carrying via crook of arm on left arm. This free up my right hand :)
