Swagger 21

Blake, which is Swagger's factory counterpart.

Check the style number, which is found on a small slip of paper sewn into a corner of the interior zippered pocket. Hope this helps.

Oh okay, yes, my tag says Blake (the second picture, exactly). I see they're actually quite different in colour and design... So does this mean the outlets will never carry Swaggers, just Blakes, and vice versa?

I have/had both, it does really depend on the bag... generally i do avoid MFF often as Lizmill said you can purchase a FP style for comparable...

I have an older MFF satchel that sucker has gone on for years... whereas i had another satchel style where the hardware faded in weeks...

It's strange though because some comparisons as of late show little difference with some pouches/wristlets from MFF to FP.. that is frankly disturbing...

For myself, i utilize the factory stores to buy FP @ a discount. You will rarely catch me paying full price for Coach, only exception are LTD collections but since they copied that to the factory store too, i am less inclined to even do that.

ETa; an afterthought... THE key to this whole nonsense is being aware what your buying, i dislike that people don't know this is NOT a 300$.xx bag, that is a price it's never sold for, the idea that people do not know what a MFF Is nor the concept exists... deception.. is what these factory stores are pulling not just Coach by any means many brands do this, even premier... with these "factory stores"

Thank you for your input. You have great points. I only bought one Coach bag from the actual boutique, but I've been fortunate enough to nab one more fp from an outlet. I just had no idea there was a difference. I thought they just sent overstock over to the outlet after each season. Now I will be more aware and I guess more selective in my bag choices...not to be a snob, but I do prefer quality and style over price. I'd rather have five bags that would last me a lifetime than 30 but half of them wearing off after three years. I do, however, like a good deal...I'm just a little mindblown at how little I know about the production and marketing side of things.

The wonderful, yet incredibly frustrating, thing about Coach is you never know what will end up at the outlets. Swagger might, but might not. Coach swore up and down no Boroughs would ever be in the outlets; not only did the B's go to outlets, there was a factory version done. That one pissed off a lot of people. The entire Madison line went MFF.
I've gotten some killer deals on higher end FP bags at outlets, though that seems rare these days...in my locale anyway. Man, I miss those days. [emoji22]

Could you elaborate on the differences you see? I'm just curious.
It is just after you see them over a period of time they are easy to spot. I don't know how to describe it, but the Swagger versus Blake is a good example. The Swagger I like, Blake I am not a fan. I don't like how they did the turnlocks differently, etc.

I think for me it comes down to what others said.... that you can get the FP bags cheaper sometimes through sales at department stores or outlet online sale, so cost wise, I would rather put my money towards FP. I have owned a couple of MFF, and just ended up not liking either. The leather and overall look just didn't appeal to me.

I also agree with HS' comment about how it is annoying that the MFF pretend their bags are worth more by putting a fake price on the tag that they never actually sell at.

I care.

Most of the bags I bought at outlet turned out to be FP. I tend to use my mff bags for outings where the bag could get messed up: home depot, shopping with the dog, outdoor events, etc.

I don't look for bags at the outlet anymore. If an fp bag comes out that I am interested in, I may follow it to outlet and buy it there. I guess I don't trust my own judgment, so I usually only look at fp bags.

I see. I was just wondering if currently there is a Swagger 21 in the colour of the Blake version you showed me. I only see a white/chalk colour online.

I buy what I like.....doesn't care if it's MFF or FP. honestly I just learned to be patient and wait for bags to go on sale before buying it unless it's a bag I'm dying for [emoji28] I've bought bags from the outlet and from FP and I loved them dearly

I STILL see a minion face when I look at the Blake.:roflmfao:

One of my very favorite satchels is a factory bag from a few years ago called the Campbell Turnlock satchel. It's an odd duck since the leather wears and looks like saffiano leather, but it's still squishy and has softened with use. Her hardware is really substantial and jingly, which I love, and she's a gorgeous pearlized light pink. She's got a shoulder strap, and is very comfy both on the shoulder and on my arm. (I know what bag I'm carrying tomorrow! )
