Not at all. While I have a clear preference for Dior, there's no progression of brands for me. Brands are so diverse these days that I can always find a style that appeals to me or meets my needs. For instance, I love LV canvas for their durability (and hence low maintenance when traveling), but I like Chanel and Hermes clutches much more than LV and even Dior. Even for SLGs I bounce around between brands.

good post!!

Interesting thread. This is so totally a personal preference-I have gone from less expensive bags to more expensive ones, but don't think it is so clear cut. I prefer to not necessarily follow the lead of others, and generally prefer less obvious favorites, such as Lanvin, Fendi, and Givenchy. I do own a number of Chanels, and only a couple of vintage Hermes Bolides. I honestly do not see myself ever purchasing a Birkin or Kelly. For SLGs I completely bounce around too!

Some of them know.....[emoji6]

Mariapia..lol..

I think whichever way it was supposed to be worn may have changed.. that's probably why they show it with the "H" worn away from the body on their website.

On a serious note, I haven't noticed anyone wear it with the H against them here.

Some ladies wear it the "original" way( like Hermès Vespa bag) most wear it with the H away from the body. I don't have an Evelyne but if I had one, I would not wear it with the H "outside". [emoji3]

My mentor has an Evelyne as her casual bag & always wears it H side in [emoji106]

Hm. I guess I evolved Coach > Marc Jacobs > LV > Balenciaga > Gucci > back to LV

I don't particularly care for Chanel. I admire it on others but every time I've tried one on myself, somehow it looks wrong

At this point I am feeling like I have enough purse selection in my closet. If I wanted another tote I'd probably lean Goyard. And if price were truly no object / sky is the limit, I'd choose a Hermes Kelly in a fabulous Kermit The Frog green color [emoji7]

LV was my first big designer I was obsessed with but I also dabbled in Gucci, BV, etc. as well as contemporary lines. The last couple of years my obsession with Chanel took off and now I have seven Chanel bags but that will probably be it since the prices are too insane for me now. As for Hermes, I like the Evelyne and Kelly only, but I don't think I would get the Kelly since it's so expensive (I'd rather get a few bags for that price). Oddly enough I am looking back again at LV, Gucci and also Valentino...I am tired of spending so much for a bag.

I jumped around various different brands and then when I discovered Chanel, the obsession really started. Happy to say (for my wallet's sake) I no longer feel the urge to keep buying Chanel. For some reason, I was never attracted to LV. I like some of the recent designs, but never developed a strong enough desire to own. I only have one H bag-the Evelyne. I actually find it more practical to wear the H side facing inward so that I can access the pocket more easily. Even though it would be a dream to own a K or B someday, I don't think that's going to happen because they are just too pricey for me!

LV was my first premiere designer bag [gift] I actually do not like LV, then got a Prada [also gift], then Burberry [another gift], then got a Gucci, and that was it. I absolutely LOVE Gucci, as far as premiere designers go, but I also love Dooney & Bourke. There are only two Hermes bags I want [1 birkin and 1 kelly] I don't like any of the styles of any of their other bags or items. I'll likely stick with Dooney & Gucci as my staples, and occasionally add other designers.

Gucci is my first love as well, have over 25 Gucci bags, love their shoes, belts, hats, etc. I have chanel and LV which I love, and I have prada, fendi, valentino, versace, dolce gabbana, coach, Michael kors.. I like to have a variety of bags and designers but my favorite is Gucci. not a fan of hermes at all

Wow! Of the three, I have LV and see myself stepping into the Chanel zone in the future. However, Hermes just doesn't appeal to me personally. Honestly, I want to explore more British brands, i.e., Sophie Hulme, Aspinal, etc.

I do have plans to buy a Goyard for my b-day.

I have been collecting LV for awhile and I've started to look at Chanel so I would kinda agree with that progression if the person likes Hermes. I would never get an Hermes bag, but I do like their bracelets and belts.

That is exactly my pattern. I got over LV and Chanel within a couple of years once I learned my likes and dislikes for my dream bags which is now H. I never look back since. It was a great learning curve to see the difference in each brand. Plus I'm earning more to be able to afford it.

I don't like sticking to just one brand and buy the bags I like regardless of who puts them out. Of course, there are some brands that I generally prefer the aesthetic of, but isn't that the case with everyone? I know a lot of people follow the LV -> Chanel -> Hermes pattern because of the price points etc, but I don't necessarily see it as a hierarchy of brands. Every brand offers something different.

Curiously, my progression has been the opposite. In terms of purchasing history, I started with Hermes, dabbled in Chanel, and lately have become more interested in LV (mostly vintage).
